I’ve noticed that the above story is garnering a bit of attention, and will more than likely gain even more steam the closer we get to tip-off on Saturday against the Heels. To be candid, I had totally forgotten about the fact that Wall is from North Carolina and might be experiencing some feelings about his recruitment by UNC, or rather, lack of recruitment going into Saturday’s game against them. Wall says that it doesn’t bother him, of course, but in the same piece goes on to say that "he grew up bleeding blue - Carolina blue". There was some discussion in Ken’s recent piece about how we match up against North Carolina and I’m fairly certain that the general consensus is that at the 1 position, the advantage definitely goes to Kentucky. But, how about when the person at the one position feels he has something to prove? Is it still an advantage to Kentucky? I’m going to say yes, and I can’t wait to find out for sure.
He'll have to sit the Campbellsville exhibition game, and the first regular season game against Morehead.
SEC Commissioner Mike Slive confirmed to ESPN.com that there are eligibility issues regarding both Kentucky top recruit John Wall and Mississippi State's top freshman Renardo Sidney. Sidney's eligibility has been discussed for months, but this is the first it has been publicly acknowledged that there could be a question about Wall's eligibility. A source also told ESPN.com that Kentucky has been investigating Wall's eligibility for months because his former AAU coach was a certified agent.
According to this, Wall will enter a program for first time offenders and could end up having his record cleared.
If true ... well, I don't even want to consider the possibilities. HAT TIP: Ridiculous Scott
Now this is cool. Recruits recruiting John Wall hard. I think Jon Hood did the best, but I am forced to admit a bit of partisanship.
You gotta be freakin' kidding me! Can things with this guy get any stranger? KSR says it was an abandoned house, but still. C'mon!
Lots and lots of interesting stuff on here. John Wall and Xavier Henry both talk UK, along with a tiny bit about other schools. UK fans dominate the chat, and I think both players give us some hints about what they are thinking. The thing that got me about Wall was that he is wanting to stay close to home. The thing that struck me about Henry were his comments vis-a-vis Jodie Meeks. Enjoy, and discuss.
Micheal Eaves spoke very recently to DeMarcus Cousins, Xavier Henry and John Wall, and came away with the feeling that Henry and Wall would likely follow Cousins to the Bluegrass. I still believe Henry will wind up at Kansas, and I have no idea about Wall -- but this a first-person contact that has to be given some credibility, at least as much as the same comments made by the players to Rivals and Scout. If this were to somehow actually happen, I am of the opinion that it would represent the greatest college recruiting class in my memory -- a total of four of the top 25 recruits including the Rivals #1, #2 and #3.
