Way to go, Coach Cal! Congratulations on yet another award.
He had nothing but good things to say about the trip to Lexington. But the most important takeaway? Randle: "This decision will be the hardest decision I’ve ever made, by far. I can honestly say that I have no idea where I want to go yet." These are 17-year old kids making the biggest decisions of their lives to-date. Let's remember, and respect, that fact.
Basketball season is approaching. The closer it gets, the busier they will be over in the Craft Center ...
Quote: "Everyone knew Mason Plumlee wasn't coming back. His older brother, Miles, the Duke coaching staff, his close friends. It was a foregone conclusion prior to the start of last season. "That's what I had told everybody," he said." More ammo to use against those holier-than-thou types that say Coach K does it "the right way" and would never deign to spend his time on "one and done" mercenaries like Coach Cal. Bottom line: every coach takes the best talent they can get. Coach Cal takes two- or three-year guys like Eric Bledsoe and turns them into "one and done"s. Coach K takes a "one and done" guy like Plumlee and turns him into a four year player. Who's working in the players' best interests again?
Nice piece by Andrew Sharp.
Coach Cal gets a win!
Interesting comments from the coach on how things went last night.
"We move the needle more than any team in the country. When we're on TV, people watch more than any team." -- John Calipari
I'm not a big lover of Michael Wilbon, but I do love this.
For his work on the Hoops for Haiti telethon. Pretty cool. And worthy of national coverage via Yahoo Sports.
