Walden is IMG Basketball Academy's basketball coach. The news was also confirmed by Andy Borman, IMG's basketball director, but no word from Daniels himself. So, there's that.
Daniels is a 5* recruit that was once heavily pursued by Kentucky. He had been previously committed to the Texas Longhorns and was also said to be "close to committing" to Kansas and Duke at some point during his recruitment. His commitment to UConn seemingly comes out of left field, but nothing in Daniels' recruitment should be a surprise at this point.
