I seem to have forgotten with Morris and Rondo leaving. So glad Ramel and Joe hung tough as they deserved a memorable Senior year. And many thanks to Matt for the Barnstorming this year with those guys. They got another once in a lifetime experience that was FUN!

Too bad the Celtics had to get Garnett and Ray Allen this year and be title contenders. It would have been awesome to see Rondo & Morris rejoin Ramel and Joe on the tour.

1978-79

Most exciting recruiting at UK in my lifetime.

Bowie, Hord, Minniefield, Hurt, Heitz all signed.

Sampson nearly did. Howard Carter. Steve Stipanovich. Jimmy Braddock. All were almost Cats.

OH YES

I was 8 so this was really the first class I was actually aware and old enough to have the memory last.

Then when we added Mel "the diner" Turpin it was like crazy town. I still have my "Twin Towers" poster. Mel and Sam came to my Middle school and did a dunk clinic. (Oh, and talked about...school...or...homework....something?)BUT THEY DUNKED LIKE CRAZY!

Hurt remains one of my alltime faves. My basketball coach had a new things called a BETAMAX and he replayed a Minniefield dunk over and over and his elbow was above the rim. COOL.

We arent going to have much recruiting news to talk about by the end of the summer as our next five

I really wasn't all that concerned about losing Maze, and getting Hood is great news indeed.

I wonder if Maze's commitment to UT had any effect. Probably not, but Hood was looking pretty hard at UT if I remember correctly.

On the right side of the page in the call in show section, listen to the Howard Avery(Michael Avery's dad) interview and the Robin Curry (Vinny Zolo's mom) interview. You can decide for yourself.
