Josh Harrellson puts off decision until tomorrow

According to Matt Jones, who just got off the phone with Harrellson, he is postponing his decision until tomorrow afternoon "around 2 or 3."  KSR notes that this is probably Central time.

Treat this as an open thread.

Not feeling to fuzzy about this one
Looks like Sutton is our man.
Still not a crook!

I agree
I think it looks worse for us the longer this gets postponed.

Not liking this
I also do not have a good feeling about this.

Long sales road
It could be taking a while to get mom and dad on board.

Or, we loose again.

I don't mind the losses. For BCG to get in on these kids as close as he has gotten in as short of time shows mad skills.

Why?
If he already knows his decision, why wont he just say?  Why put it off another day?

by kentuckygirl0724 on Apr 29, 2008 3:07 PM EDT reply actions

I say he is in....
I think he really wants to come here but is battling home and family which can be awfully tough.  Still, I think we win this one.  But...we will see.

He is a young man
I watched the Pitino interview re Caracter most likely not coming back to UL. He said something to the effect, I cannot remember his exact words, that when your son or daughter makes a decision to go to college, get married, etc. There is really nothing you can do as they have a mind of their own. A parent would prefer their son goes to the college of parent's choice, but that is not always the case. Harrellson seems to me to be quite mature as to being able to make his own choice about his future basketball years.

I suppose we will just have to wait and hear.

I think ...
his decision has already been made.

And I think we will like it.

That's what I think, not what I know.

Evan Hilbert
over at MJ's site has a nice interview with Harrellson, which I think sounds good for the 'Cats. Nothing definitive there, but seems good.

Also, see: http://blog.kentuckysportsradio.com/?p=5934

Great news on Jon Hood naming 'Cats as his front runner.

I was listening when Maggard released the news on the radio 630 with Dick Gabriel around 6:30 or so.  Awesome news!

A huge Welcome Josh!
I do not think you will ever regret your decision to be a Wildcat...and your parents are going to LOVE seeing you on national TV!

Great News!
This is the best possible outcome for UK for recruiting for next year.  I'm very excited to have Josh aboard!  I heard Josh say in the Marc Maggard interview that he has only been playing basketball for 5 years, so that explains how he went from being not highly ranked his senior year, to becoming a hot asset in the junior college circuit.  He is only going to get better!

Not only is Josh a great talent and rising player, but also Patterson won't have to play nearly the whole game.  This will make Patterson much more effective when he does play and reduce his risk of injury.

I'm looking forward to a big improvement for the 2008-2009 season.  If Jasper stays, Meeks is healthy, and both Liggins and Galloway show up, I think we'll be very competitive.  Can't wait to see what Gillispie does with a full roster!!

Josh
Coach will make you an NBA player.

He is tough as we saw this past year...but toughness pays for the next level.

Glad you are on board for Ky Wildcats.

Nice Get For Cats
Harrellson will back up Patterson and Stevenson in the post next season = much needed help down low.

Eric Ferguson
KSR is now reporting that Eric Ferguson a 6'9 power forward currently ranked as the 8th best player in the 2010 class has committed to UK. While signing day is quite a ways off and things could change this a really good news for the CATS. Our 2010 class is looking beastly.

AWESOME!
You have to learn to NEVER leave your computer!  Incredible news on the recruiting front....do you realize what 2010 is shaping up to be?  Ferguson, Euton, and Ross-Miller so far.....other sites are saying that we are now the leader for Hood (which is a very important in state player) for '09 I believe and then Vinnie Zollo for 2011...things change very quickly around here.....one day we are ready to go on medication for depression and then a day like this......wow!!!!!

Yes, Chuck -- AWESOME!!
My, my, I would say BCG has been an extremely busy, busy boy!!

Getting Harrellson is just Fabulous -- he will look absolutely wonderful in blue!   : )

by BigSkyCat on Apr 29, 2008 9:34 PM EDT up reply actions

When was the last time........
we had a player like this come to UK?  Big and thick...Marquis Estill maybe?  Mark Pope type?  He will fill a huge need literally and add depth.....if we can get 8 points and 8 rebounds out him.....then that will be perfect.

by Chuck Alexinis on Apr 29, 2008 10:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Good news
Like Billy says, sometimes hard work pays off.  You might not see it right away but it will pay off somewhere along the way.  There is no doubt he and his staff are one of the hardest working recruiting machines I have ever seen.  Hard work pays off.  Now if I were Josh, I would put in some hard work this summer running my rear end off.

Lot of excitement ...
in here.

Good to see.  I have a new post up now, nothing new, but I had to catch up somehow ...
