As We Slooowwwllyy Move Along to Football Season

The lack of information and news about the Kentucky football team is simply staggering.  Today, I found exactly one article in the local media about UK football recruiting, but that's all.  Heck, there is more in-depth looks at UK football by the opposition than by our own reporters.  Seems to me like these guys deserve better after the stellar performance they put on last season.

Fortunately, Wildcats Thunder has done the grunt work, and written this excellent blog post about the changing scholarship situation caused by the loss of Duran Jefferson and DJ Stafford.

Kudos to Wildcats Thunder for doing yeoman's work on the football team, and keeping us poor basketball addicts from looking more clueless about the gridiron than we already are.

UKEric, a poster at The Cats Pause, has a look at the offensive line that is worth a read.

Here's something that surprised me, and probably others as well.  Dennis Dodd at CBS Sportsline has the Wildcats ranked 25th!  I don't know how to feel about that -- our football team outranking our basketball team ...

Dang,I'm glad I found this site.Great to get some football news.I guess with all the excitement built around Gillispie and his recruiting, football has been put on the backburner.

It has ...
and I admit to being totally guilty of neglecting football, but I'm not by myself.

I am trying to do a better job, but I am just a casual fan of football.  I am a rabid, borderline psychotic fan of basketball. :-)

i'm in the minority who loves football better.....
and very proud of it.  glad to see some football news on the site for a change.

and i want to thank JL and Tru for listening to me and adding more football news to the site.  i've always felt A Sea of Blue was the best U of Kentucky site hands down and now I know it's a fact.

thanks Tru for link to Wildcats Thunder.  I hadn't been to the site for a while but it does do a fantastic job covering football and always has.

sorry for the negative comments i made in the past about the basketball team.

i just don't care for basketball.  i just don't.  but i know that most U of Kentucky fans do and i realize after the negative comments i received in my first diary i underestimated U of Kentucky fans' love of basketball and i now respect your wishes 100 percent.

U of Kentucky Basketball is a "member of the family" to Kentucky fans and always will be.  I'm hoping that U of Kentucky Football will also be a "member of the family" soon.

I think you're right ...
ukcatfan191.  Football has always been under appreciated here in Kentucky.  I intend to work hard to make sure we support it better, but you are right about one thing:

Basketball is and probably always will be king here in the bluegrass.
