Here is Something That Would Make Us All Smile ...
Now here is a picture that I could really get used to looking at.

Folks, you have to admit - whoever Photoshopped this was a pro. Nice work. Hat tip: Wildcat Maniacs.
For our late night update, we start of with the Herald-Leader, who cues Tubby Smith, stage right:
"Sure," he said. "You kidding me?" Smith acknowledged the pressures associated with leading college basketball's winningest program and dealing with its famously demanding fans. But he noted that the job pays well and can attract a quality coach.
"Anytime a coach has made it to the level that Kentucky calls, they're capable of handing it," said Smith, who spoke to reporters after participating in a Final Four news conference sponsored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. "There are a number of coaches who have proven they're capable and ready."
Class and truth. Always nice to find next to one another, and Tubby Smith has always been able to coexist comfortably with both. I miss him already, but make no mistake - it was time for both him and UK to move on.
Guess what the Wildcat dragged in - an old Courier-Journal sports writer name of Jerry Brewer, now trying to make a name with the Seattle Times, and ol' Jerry thinks he sees himself a trend:
"Sometimes, it's more fun to do what Few's doing," said Majerus, who seemingly turned down two jobs a year while he was coaching Utah. "Life is more balanced. If you're at UCLA, Kentucky, North Carolina, Indiana, those are entitlement jobs. Everybody wants them, but they don't realize what they're getting into.
"It's like recruiting an alcoholic to a New Year's Eve party."
More and more, prestige-obsessed coaches are requiring rehab. They're beginning to understand serenity is only a moonwalk away.
"Moonwalk," Jer? How very 1980's of you. Serenity at Minnesota - the mind fairly reels at the concept, but maybe he's right. I hear Tubby Smith is sleeping better, anyway.
The Houston Chronicle says that Billy Gillespie is off the market for the Arkansas job. There still seems to be a small window of opportunity for UK if Donovan doesn't come, but it is closing real fast.
Finally, the Courier-Journal's Eric Crawford lauds Tubby Smith for helping Kentucky make "social progress." I suppose our columnists have to write these sorts of pieces to keep us Kentucky fans in our place. Small price to pay for being a Wildcat fan, though - at least he didn't eclipse this woman's record for condescension.

I totally agree
If the Gators win it all again, I'm sure that Donovan will want to spend some time in the lime light with his players as he should and just as any decent human being he may bow out in style with his sites set on Lexington when the time is right. I really don't feel like if his team will win it all, that they go back in the locker room, talk at the press conferences, parade through town, and Billy says something along the lines of "see ya, it's been fun". If Florida wins Monday night, it will be yet another week or so of rumors circulating about his status.
I realize that with the what-would-be pending NCAA sanctions, violations, or whatever that we can not, or should I say, should not talk with Donovan even if it would be through an agent. Like I said in my previous post, it may already be cut and dried but either way Kentucky owes it to Donovan to respect him and let him finish his season with Florida.
If all our hopes later turn out to be just a big "hell no, I won't go" and we don't get our man, then I'm sure that there are those among us who will blame Donovan if we don't get say a Patrick Patterson or a Jai Lucas. People will say that he just led us on and made us lose valuable time and recruits in hopes they may go to Florida or elsewhere. I mean now seriously, what recruit will want to come to Kentucky when they don't even know who they would be playing for? Putting myself in their shoes, I would want to go to an established program with a great coach and potential. If Donovan does come, then there will be the bloggers that say that Donovan done Florida wrong and they may even lose some of their recruits. Boy!!! I would really hate that for them!!!
Billy knows that. He knows that Kentucky is just waiting on the right time to approach him if they haven't already. If he weren't the first option, does anyone besides me believe that Kentucky would have already named another coach by now? I don't even think that it is as much a financial thing as everyone seems to think that it is. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure that Florida will try every way to keep him but I firmly believe that his decision has already been made just not to the media. Billy has way too much respect for the Cats to ever do them wrong. Maybe it's just my desire, but I feel like this photograph may very soon become a reality.

of course, according to their "sources," it's just a starting point.
id rather we blew him out of the water immediately, with more like a 4-5M deal. i dont want there to be any confusion that he's the guy we want.
