Kentucky Wildcats (1) at Vanderbilt Commodores: Open Game Thread
This is your official open game thread for the #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats at the Vanderbilt Commodores basketball game tonight at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, TN. Game particulars as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com.

Kentucky brings a 16-game winning streak into the Music City tonight, as well as the top ranking in the country. There will be fans hanging from the rafters in Memorial Gym tonight, a place which has hosted SEC basketball games since well before I was born, and before my mother and father were wed.
Vanderbilt is coming off a comfortable home victory over the LSU Tigers, breaking a two-game losing streak. Defeating Kentucky tonight would give a much-needed shot in the arm to a program that, in the eyes of many, has underachieved significantly this year despite the injury and suspension of senior center Festus Ezeli.
Florida Gators (8) at Kentucky Wildcats (1): Open Game Thread
Welcome to the A Sea of Blue open game thread for the Florida Gators at the Kentucky Wildcats tonight in Rupp Arena. Game particulars as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com:

Kentucky vs. Florida Tues., Feb. 7 - 7:00 p.m. ET Rupp Arena Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: ESPN Radio: UK IMG Live Video via WatchESPN Live Audio Live Blog Text Updates
This game has a lot of meaning for UK because not only because of the longest home winning streak in the country, but also because this game could well define the rest of the SEC season. Both these teams were expected to compete for the SEC championship this year, and that is running true to form.

Kentucky Wildcats (1) at South Carolina Gamecocks: Open Game Thread
Today, the South Carolina Gamecocks welcome the Kentucky Wildcats to Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, SC for a tilt between two SEC East foes. Game particulars are as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com:
Kentucky @ Auburn
---
No. 1 Kentucky at South Carolina Sat., Feb. 4 - 6:00 p.m. ET Rupp Arena Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: ESPN Radio: UK IMG Live Video via WatchESPN Live Audio Text Updates
For the South Carolina view on the game, be sure to check out Garnet and Black Attack, a good friend of this blog.
Kentucky comes into this game on a roll, both at home and away. The last three contests have been the kind of play that Kentucky needs to take into the NCAA tournament. The scary thing is, this team still has a tremendous amount of untapped potential remaining. They may be on their way to moving closer to the top of their game, and if that progress continues, it's difficult to imagine what the games could look like.
But this is a young team, and this is a road game. That is always a combustible combination, and no outcome would be shocking. South Carolina on the road was the only SEC team to defeat the mighty 2009-10 team other than Tennessee at home, so there is some unpleasant history with UK teams coming undefeated in conference to Colonial Life Arena.
Tennessee Volunteers at Kentucky Wildcats (1): Game Preview and Open Game Thread
Tonight, because of circumstances beyond my control, we are going to combine the game preview and the open game thread for the Tennessee Volunteers at Kentucky Wildcats into one article. Game particulars as follows:
Tennessee @ Kentucky
---
Kentucky vs. Tennessee Tues., Jan. 31 - 7:00 p.m. ET Rupp Arena Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: ESPNU Radio: UK IMG Live Video via WatchESPN Live Audio Text Updates
Fortunately, very little has changed about Tennessee since we last played them. They have managed one big upset versus the Connecticut Huskies in Knoxville, but other than that have gone an underwhelming 2-2 despite the addition of Jarnell Stokes, who entered the starting lineup for Tennessee from the UConn game since. The starting lineup for tonight is likely to be:
- Trae Golden (G) 6'1" 209#
- Josh Richardson (G) 6'6" 186#
- Cameron Tatum (G) 6'7" 193#
- Jeronne Maymon (F) 6'7" 265#
- Jarnell Stokes (F) 6'8" 250#

Since Tennessee and Kentucky last met, the Wildcats have won every game and are now 7-0 in the SEC. The Vols won the aforementioned contest with the Huskies, got creamed on the road by the Vanderbilt Commodores, and defeated the Auburn Tigers in Knoxville in a game that was painful to watch.
Kentucky Wildcats (1) at LSU Tigers: Open Game Thread
It's a cat-fight today in Baton Rouge as the Kentucky Wildcats take their #1 ranking down to the bayou in an attempt to keep the SEC winning streak alive at seven in a row. Game particulars as follows:
Kentucky @ LSU
---
Kentucky at LSU Sat., Jan. 28 - 4:00 p.m. ET PMAC Baton Rouge, La. Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: SEC Network Radio: UK IMG Live Video via WatchESPN Live Audio Text Updates
The Wildcats come in to the PMAC on a roll, winners of their last 12 consecutive contests. LSU, on the other hand, has had a tough January, winning only a couple of games since the turn of the calendar. Much of this has been without freshman star Johnny O'Bryant, who is available for the second straight game today.

Kentucky Wildcats (1) at Georgia Bulldogs: Open Game Thread
Welcome to A Sea of Blue's open game thread for the Kentucky Wildcats at Georgia Bulldogs game tonight in Stegeman Coliseum in Athens, Georgia. Game particulars as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com:
Kentucky @ Georgia
---
Kentucky at Georgia Tues., Jan. 24 - 9:00 p.m. ET Stegeman Coliseum Athens, Ga. Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: ESPN Radio: UK IMG Live Video via ESPN3 Text Updates
Since the advent of the SEC section of the season, Georgia has struggled. In fact, they have struggled against every team in Ken Pomeroy's top 100 that they have played except for a couple, and even though Georgia has good talent, they have really not been able to put the pieces together like they were last year. Georgia is experienced in the back court, but very young up front.
The Wildcats come into Athens a perfect 5-0, undefeated (but definitely not untested) in this young SEC season. Kentucky has been winning games without playing particularly well, and that's really more of a glass half-full than half-empty.
Alabama Crimson Tide at Kentucky Wildcats (2): Open Game Thread
Welcome to A Sea of Blue's open game thread for the Alabama Crimson Tide at Kentucky Wildcats basketball game this afternoon in Rupp Arena. Game particulars are as follows:
Alabama @ Kentucky
---
Kentucky vs. Alabama Sat., Jan. 21 - 12:00 p.m. ET Rupp Arena Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: CBS Radio: UK IMG CBS Sports Live Video Live Audio Text Updates
The Tide come into this game on a bit of a roll but not the kind a team wants to be on, having lost two SEC games in a row, one on the road to Mississippi St. and the other at home to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Now, Anthony Grant & Co. are faced with a challenge that is arguably far more difficult than either those efforts.
The Tide and 'Cats come into this game as the two best defensive teams in the conference by a wide margin. Both teams really get after you defensively, so we can look forward to a fairly modest and even slow pace with both teams working hard to get open shots.
For the Crimson Tide perspective on the game, be sure to check out our good friends at SB Nation's Alabama blog, Roll 'Bama Roll.
Arkansas Razorbacks at Kentucky Wildcats (2): Open Game Thread
Welcome to the A Sea of Blue open game thread for the Arkansas Razorbacks at Kentucky Wildcats game tonight in Rupp Arena. Game particulars as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com:
Arkansas @ Kentucky
---
Kentucky vs. Arkansas Tues., Jan. 17 - 9:00 p.m. ET Lexington, Ky. Rupp Arena Game Notes: UK
Coverage

First things: For those of you who missed the ESPN3 link above, here it is again. No excuses. Second, for the Razorback perspective on things, be sure to visit the SB Nation Razorbacks blog, Arkansas Expats.
The Razorbacks are coming off a big win versus the LSU Tigers, and I know they are hungry for another. For the Wildcats, they have not tasted defeat in over a month in Bloomington versus the Indiana Hoosiers.
Kentucky Wildcats (2) at Tennessee Volunteers: Open Game Thread
This is the official open game thread for the Kentucky Wildcats at Tennessee Volunteers basketball game this afternoon. Game particulars are as follows, courtesy of UKAthletics.com:

Tennessee was expected to be down this year due to the l'affaire du Pearl and the loss of some of their quality players like Scotty Hopson and Tobias Harris to the NBA, and Brian Williams, Melvin Goins and Josh Bone to graduation. But new head coach Cuonzo Martin has really hit the ground running, and the matriculation of Jarnell Stokes to the Vols after the semester break.
Be sure to visit our good buddies over at Rocky Top Talk, SB Nation's outstanding Tennessee blog, for the Vols take on the game. Be nice, these guys are our friends.
Kentucky Wildcats (2) at Auburn Tigers: Open Game Thread
Welcome to the official open game thread for the Kentucky Wildcats at Auburn Tigers basketball game tonight in Auburn, Alabama. Game particulars are as follows:
Kentucky @ Auburn
---
Kentucky at Auburn Weds., Jan. 11 - 8:00 p.m. ET Auburn, Ala. Game Notes: UK
Coverage
TV: SEC Network Radio: UK IMG Live Video via ESPN3 Live Audio Text Updates
The Tigers are coming off two sound defeats at the hands of quality SEC foes at Vanderbilt and Florida, and hopes they can do better versus Kentucky in the comfy confines of their own gym. Tony Barbee's squad is currently placed at #210 by Ken Pomeroy's ranking system, and the Wildcats check in at #4.
