Th 247 crystal ball is fun way to gauge recruiting, but it can also be used as a tool for misdirection.
After all, players like to have excitement and uncertainty in the air when they finally announce their college decision. It looks like Immanuel Quickley will be no different, as there’s as little drama building up before he makes his college decision in the near future.
If you follow Quickley’s crystal ball, you’ll notice there have been three-straight non-UK picks, two of which being for the Kansas Jayhawks. That’s the only team that has a shot at unseating UK for the lead in Quickley’s recruitment, and it looks like some recruiting guys think Kansas is now in the lead.
However, SEC Country’s Kyle Tucker reports that it’s bogus intel, and UK is still the team to beat for the five-star guard.
If you noticed a Maryland and Miami writer change their "Crystal Ball" picks for Immanuel Quickley to Kansas, I'm told UK still clear No. 1.

Not really. Have checked behind the scenes. Was told these guys were fed bogus Intel.

If UK were to lose out on Quickley, it could be the beginning of a disastrous start to the 2018 class. Not only would UK lose their top point guard target, but they’d also lose him to the school that seems to be the biggest threat to UK for Zion Williamson, who has stated numerous times how he’d like to play with Quickley in college. One would have to assume that Kansas getting Quickley would have a major impact on Zion.
Make no mistake about it: Quickley may not be the best or highest-ranked recruit UK gets in 2018, but his importance to this being a great class cannot be overstated.
