The Canadian R.J. Barrett, the talented forward who dominated Team USA in the FIBA U19 World Cup, or Zion Williamson, the internet sensation that is bound to break multiple backboards in his career?
It’s an interesting question. Both bring great skill sets to the Wildcats, and are two of the top prospects in the class. Zion is arguably the greatest Youtube sensation of any high school phenom we’ve ever witnessed.
Barrett, on the other hand, is more of a smooth assassin who can impact a game in more ways than his counterpart. The good thing is Zion plays like a wing who could easily move down to power forward with his brute force and relentless motor, whereas Barrett is skilled enough to play shooting guard.
They can coexist in college and be part of a very special team, regardless of what school it’s at. Saying this, one should never bet on two elite players at the same position picking the same school, and it’s not like Kentucky is the runaway favorite for either. Kansas and Duke are both in the running for Zion. Duke is also strongly in the mix for Barrett.
So, if Kentucky can only have one of either Barrett or Williamson, who would you rather have at Kentucky?
