The Quade Green recruitment is over, but the result won’t be known until Saturday night.
According to Adam Zagoria, Green has signed his national letter of intent with either the Kentucky Wildcats or Syracuse Orange. Who he signed with will not be revealed until Saturday night’s midnight madness event at Neumann-Goretti, as expected.
However, Zagoria writes that the school he signed with already knows the answer.
Green signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday night — the last day of the NCAA early signing period — and has already informed his future team where he is going, a source with direct knowledge of the situation told ZAGSBLOG.
This recruitment has been a tough one to call up until last week when Green visited the Cuse for their win vs Colgate. Since then. the Orange have been the presumed leader, but UK has made a strong push that came in large part to Green visiting for the Wildcats’ win over Michigan State as a UK guest.
As Zagoria notes, the early signing period ran Nov. 9-16, but Green will count as part of the early signing period since he has already signed his NLI. That means either Syracuse has what would be a solid recruiting haul, or UK has what would be ranked as a top-three class coming out of the early signing period, and that’s with guys like Mohamed Bamba, Trae Young, Jarred Vanderbilt, Kevin Knox, and Hamidou Diallo still on the board.
If UK lands Green and then gets two of the other three mentioned names, that would be good enough to contend for the top class of 2017.
Or as we in Kentucky call it, just another day in the office for Coach Cal. Still, until the call is made Saturday, assume nothing.
