SEC Power Rankings
1. Alabama (prev rank: 1)

Derrick Henry also showed why he is an early contender for the Heisman with a 147 yard, 3 touchdown performance in the showdown at AT&T Stadium.

2. Georgia (3)

Nick Chubb only played sparingly, but rushed for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Georgia's defense on allowed 45 yards rushing against ULM. That is frightening for future opponents.

Next: Fresno State (1-0) -- 3:30 PM on ESPN
4. Arkansas (6)
The Razorbacks are not getting the love that they should, but they are really impressive on offense and defense. The Hawgs may have the best offense that no one is talking about. Brandon Allen threw for 308 yards and 4 touchdowns while Alex Collins rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown. Arkansas is definitely a sleeper team in the LOADED SEC West.
Next: Toledo (0-0) -- 4:00 PM on SEC Network
5. Auburn (2)
The Tigers had a Jekyll and Hyde moment on Saturday against Louisville. In the third quarter, the Tigers led 24-0. In the fourth quarter, the Tigers led 31-24 with minutes remaining. There was some good and back to take out of the game. Jeremy Johnson did not live up to his billing from this summer, but Auburn's defense sure has improved a bunch.
Next: Jacksonville State (0-1) -- 12:00 PM on SEC Network
6. LSU (5)
The Tigers did not play Saturday due to inclement weather.
Next: Mississippi State (1-0) -- 9:15 PM on ESPN
7. Texas A&M (10)
The Aggies really exploded onto the scene Saturday night with a rousing 38 to 17 victory over 15th ranked Arizona State in Houston. Next: Ball State (1-0) -- 7:00 PM on ESPNU
8. Tennessee (7)

The real test is Saturday night when 19th ranked Oklahoma comes to Neyland Stadium

Next: Arkansas State (1-0) -- 7:00 PM
10. Mississippi State (9)
The Bulldogs continued their winning ways Saturday night with a 34 to 16 victory over in-state rival Southern Miss. However, the score is misleading. The Bulldogs struggled with the Eagles for three quarters until making a push in the final 15 minutes. The Bulldogs gave up over 300 yards passing. They have a big test this Saturday when LSU comes to town.
Next: LSU (0-0) -- 9:15 PM on ESPN
11. Florida (12)
The Gators looked explosive Saturday night with a 61 to 13 victory over New Mexico State. The Gators put up 606 total yards. It remains to be seen on how Florida will really look against a formidable opponent. Treon Harris and Will Grier looked solid in Saturday's big win, but the offense line is still very shaky.
Next: East Carolina (1-0) -- 7:00 PM on ESPN2
12. Kentucky (13)
The Wildcats almost let one slip by them on Saturday night. With minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Cats led Louisiana-Lafayette 33 to 10. With five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the game was tied. There were definitely positives from the game, but the Kentucky defense gave up over 400 yards of offense.
Next: South Carolina (1-0) -- 7:30 PM on SEC Network
13. South Carolina (11)
The Gamecocks were two plays from suffering a loss. Skai Moore picked off two passes in the endzone to secure a victory over North Carolina in a neutral game in Charlotte. The defense still cannot stop the run and the quarterback play was putrid for the Gamecocks.
Next: Kentucky (1-0) -- 7:30 PM on SEC Network
14. Vanderbilt (14)
The Commodores suffered the lone loss of the first weekend for the SEC. While Western Kentucky has certainly improved in the last five years, it's not a good sign for Vanderbilt fans. The Dores only put up 12 points in the loss to WKU. It doesn't get any easier this week as Georgia comes to town.
