The guys at ESPN Recruiting Nation have updated their 2016 class rankings to reflect the top 40 recruiting classes for next year.
The Kentucky Wildcats finally cracked the Top 25, coming in at No. 24 overall, good for the ninth-best ranking of any SEC school. The highest finish UK has ever had in ESPN's class rankings came in 2014 with the No. 20 ranking that year.
Here's their brief breakdown of the Cats' 2016 class as it stands:
The Wildcats are building from the inside out offensively in the 2016 class, led by offensive tackle Landon Young (No. 150) and guard/center Drake Jackson (No. 271). Three-star quarterback Gunnar Hoak leads a strong group of commits from Ohio. On defense, four-star cornerback prospect Jordan Griffin leads the way.
To no surprise, the SEC dominates the top 30 classes with 12 teams, including four in the top 10. The LSU Tigers lead the way with the No. 2 ranking, followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide (4), Ole Miss Rebels (5), and Georgia Bulldogs (10).
