Today, George Brown, offensive lineman for 2015, picks between what is widely believed to be UK and Florida, with a sprinkling of Cincinnati.
Word on the street is that UK has at best a 50-50 shot. We’ll have to wait and see.

This is one of those days when guys will call into sports radio and embarrass all of us by making excuses for Ray Rice

Yeah. It will happen. Book it. < /sigh >

Saturday Edge likes the direction of Kentucky football.
The promising part of this defense is that they will be able to get after the QB, this i’m confident of. If the defense can continue to keep pressure on the QB, they will protect their secondary. The issue becomes if Kentucky can stop the run. If you can’t stop the run, you will get burned by play action all day.
I think this is right.

A new author over at Rocky Top Talk hasn’t figured out how to play nice. The top guys at this blog are friends of ours. This guy hasn’t quite gotten over 2011 yet, apparently.

Mark Stoops is not talking about Ashely Lowery’s status, but did say DeMarco Robinson still has some penance to pay.
-
Mark Riddle, a former UK lineman and now high school coach, thinks Mark Stoops is the right fit at Kentucky.

Bud Dupree is hearing a lot of praise from many quarters. Nobody deserves it more, and I hope he blows up and has a fantastic season this year.
-
More Bud Dupree. The "freak" word is being thrown around an awful lot for Dupree.

Alligator Armiy remembers 1987’s basketball team victory over UK at Florida. Man, it’s good to see King Rex playing again even in a loss, but he gets hurt slightly in this one in a brutal collision with Vernon Maxwell. It’s also amusing to see the late Dwayne Schintzius’ mullet. I was very sad to see Dwayne die so young, he was a memorable (and really good) player for that Gators, gone much too soon.
I respond with 2003, when the Suffocats demonstrated to the #1 Florida Gators how basketball is properly played. Dickie V’s commentary is priceless, and it’s great to see the young Billy Donovan, now the dean of SEC basketball coaches.
-
How a young UK fan wound up as a Blue Devil. Sad, but somebody’s got to go to Duke, I guess.
-
Both Rick Pitino and John Calipari are recruiting Antonio Blankney hard for 2015. I really like what he says about Kentucky.
Other Kentucky sports
- Kentucky freshman Nick Anderson finished 8th in the IAAF World Junior Championships 110-meter hurdles. That bodes well for the future.

Gary Parrish has a column yesterday on Skal Labissiere pondering the Emmanuel Mudiay deal. If anybody in 2015 did the overseas thing it would likely be Lbissiere, but I don’t think it will.
He also goes on to talk about Labissiere’s proximity to Oxford and Memphis as factors, which I suppose they are.

Good question.
Still having a hard time buying the Clippers' angst over Sterling. He wasn't a closet racist. Where was this opposition when you took his $?

Time Warner Cable has finally reached a deal to carry the SEC Network. Good, it’s about time. I really didn’t want to cancel TWC, I rather like their service since they took over Insight.

John Wall added to Team USA camp roster. As it should be.

Mack Brown joins ESPN as a football analyst. Well, he can’t be any worse an analyst at football than Bob Knight is at basketball.

Well, this is certainly bad news. Mosquito’s are going to be the death of us all.

Good idea? Don’t teach math, coach it.
