About 15 years ago we moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas and settled into our new town. As part of settling in we, of course, had to attend our local high school basketball games to check out the level of play. In that first game we attended and every day since my attention was always drawn to a framed Kentucky jersey hanging in the gym. The jersey was that of Tiffany Wait who play for UK from '95 - '99 then went on to the WNBA then eventually settled back in Hot Springs with her degree in pharmacology.
Last night my son was invited to a local Optimist dinner to be recognized along with other 7th- 12th graders for academic excellence. As part of the dinner was a speaker - Tiffany Wait (McCain) and her fitting topic for these students was perseverance. She did a very good job and I'm happy to say she continues to represent, follow and promote the Cats. The beginning of her talk "encouraged" the audience to tune in and root for our boys tomorrow and afterwards we had a nice chat about UK and some other surprising common ground.
So in case anyone was wondering what happened to this former UK great - now you know.
