To no one's surprise, Marcus Lee has decided to return for his sophomore season at Kentucky. Here is an excerpt from the official announcement at UKAthletics.com:
"I've really enjoyed my college experience and I'm looking forward to continuing to develop as an all-around player," Lee said. "Playing in the Final Four was such an amazing feeling, but I want to come back and help win that final game this year."
You gotta love that attitude. Marcus really showed the world something when he came in and had a huge game against Michigan, scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks in only 15 minutes of play against the Wolverines. His remarkable athleticism really showed out in that game. Here's a trip down memory lane for you:
Obviously, Lee is still pretty raw and needs to work on things besides blocks, put-backs, and layups. he has decent fundamentals on his shot and needs to become a face-up threat as well as learn some post moves, but this young man can really be good with a bit of seasoning. Best of all, he has one additional unteachable that has really mattered in the past — Final Four experience.
Congrats, Marcus! Can't wait to see you in Blue and White again next season.
