Yahoo! has apparently redesigned their site, and the boo birds are out everywhere. I don't see what all the moaning and groaning is about, it works for me. Some people fear change, I guess...

Being told that "you suck" can definitely be a motivator Just ask Bud Dupree. Personally, I wouldn't want to be WKU on Saturday with an angry Dupree lining up at defensive end.

Don't think the game against the Hilltoppers is particularly important? Mark Story disagrees with you, and for once, I agree with him:
Whatever happens with the overall UK win/loss record in 2013, the most important thing Kentucky football can achieve is get to the end of this season with UK's 2014 recruiting momentum — and commitments — intact.
An opening loss to a Sun Belt Conference team, even one that beat UK a season ago, could make selling "a new day at Kentucky" get difficult real fast.
That's exactly how I see it.

Wow! Shameful moments and players not even wanting to practice. No wonder Vanderbilt embarrassed UK late last season and the Cats were no match for a poor Tennessee team.

No love coming from SEC blogs — yet:
Outlook: What I wrote last year about the Wildcats – "Remember that Seinfeld episode when Elaine is horrified by the realization that she’s turned into George? Well, Kentucky has turned into Vanderbilt. It’s hard to see where the ‘Cats get a conference win, or beat Louisville. Three wins, tops." – hasn’t changed. UK has the worst personnel in the conference and that isn’t something you fix overnight.
We'll have a better idea how right or not this is after Saturday.

Avery Williamson adds to the list of players embarrassed by the loss to Western last year.
"They were a good team, but I was pretty embarrassed to lose, because we (had never) lost to Western. I was pretty mad at myself and everybody — it was a downfall."
They were a good team. Not good enough to be beating an SEC school, but apparently good enough to beat us. Let's hope this year that UK resembles ... you know, an actual SEC team in more than conference affiliation
-
Kentucky looking good for Blake Bone, according to Ben Roberts. That would be a great high to go into the Western game on.

Chris Diggs compares Mark Stoops' first year to that of Louisville's Charlie Strong. I think he makes a good point.

I'm okay with John Calipari wearing a little red to honor R.J. Corman. Just not too often, please.
"I always said I would never wear red, but in honor of my friend, I'm going to wear a Rick Corman red jacket to one or more games this season," Calipari said in a blog on his website. "It's the second color I said I would never wear but ended up doing (brown was the other), but I promise I will never wear orange. Oh, and it won't be for the Louisville game either."
-
Coach Cal talks about R.J. Corman, and what he meant to him. Never forget that Corman literally brought Calipari to Kentucky.
Over the next couple of years, Rick became my brother. He was an unbelievable supporter of my family and someone I could always go to if I needed help. Anytime we got together, very rarely did we talk about basketball. When he came to practice, he was the only guy I let come in with a red shirt on. If you know anything about him, his whole company is based on being red.
Coach Cal has added an update to this post, which you will want to read.

A package deal between Stanley Johnson and Justise Winslow? I'll believe all this when/if it happens. To me, it's just kids talking.
-
Julius Mays talks about Julius Randle, and if I were a UK opponent, I'd be very afraid.

Corey Nichols at KSR makes a very good point as to who the real loser is in the battle for Emmanuel Mudiay.

Meanwhile, Evan Daniels tells Ben Roberts that the diminutive Tyler Ulis is a strong Kentucky lean. That didn't take long. Hat tip: Aaron's Blog
