Yesterday was the first day and on the podium (in no particular order) (Love that phrase!) were Will Muschamp, Steve Spurrier. Hugh Freeze and Gary Pinkel. Every newspaper in the South has coverage, but I thought you might like to read how our SBN brothers covered the event.
Steve Spurrier was, as usual, the best of the day. He likes Hugh Freeze because he wear a visor. The Visor Boy calls Freeze Visor Man. Spurrier and Calipari need to get together. And, to make you like Spurrier even more, he doesn't much like Notre Dame. Read about it at SBNation where they're already into Day 2 coverage. Garnet & Black Attack devoted their coverage to Clowney, Ellington andShaw.
Gary Pinkel didn't have a lot to say, but QB James Franklin upset his own fans as reported by RockMNation:
Their coverage is mostly made up of coverage by other Missouri media outlets. There are alot.
Hugh Freeze coverage by Red Cup Rebellion:They emphasize the videos with some commentary.
Hugh Freeze really doesn't say much. Words do come out of his mouth, but more so than most coaches, they signify little and inform even less. That's most likely by design. He knows how to leverage the media to mitigate the expectations of his players and fans, and he is pretty good at keeping his cards close to his vest and not saying any potential foot-in-mouth type of remarks
Will Muschamp from Alligator Army: You've already read about his comment about Urban Meyer and Ohio State.
There's no doubt in my mind that Muschamp was smiling as he said this, and I think the joke's a fair, funny shot. If someone — Meyer? — chooses to make much ado about this nothing, that's on that someone.
