All the rage around the Big Blue Nation at the moment is the video interview with Andrew Wiggins’ brother Nick, who plays for the Wichita Shockers. Back some time ago, Nick said he thought Kentucky was the best place for Andrew, but after this recruiting class coming in, he thinks it might not be "the best fit for him." Kyle Tucker of the Courier-Journal is the one asking the questions about Andrew. You can see the whole video interview here.
Nick’s reasoning seems to be that he thinks Andrew would disappear somewhat amidst all the talent Kentucky has on the team, and to an extent he’s right. What he probably isn’t figuring on is that with Kentucky, Wiggins will get more publicity and even more recognition than he would with, say, Florida State. He’d probably get about the same, roughly speaking, with Kansas and North Carolina, although I honestly think he’d still get more at UK this year than either of those two worthies. Just an opinion, UNC and KU fans, nothing but
loathing love for ya.
No matter what happens with Wiggins, Kentucky is going to be favored by most, if not all, to win the national title in 2014. With Wiggins, it just becomes a much harder argument that someone else has a good chance of preventing it, and will spark serious talk of an undefeated season.
Regarding an undefeated season, while that would be nice, it’s completely a bonus, if it were to happen. I don’t care if we lose ten games as long as we win the last one of the college basketball season. But that’s just me. Your mileage may vary.
