School-record 45,212 fans attend Texas A&M's spring game
So, let me get this straight – Kentucky football fans outnumbered the Texas A&M Aggies, home of the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, by over 5,000 souls? And their attendance was a school record?
Looks like not everything is bigger in Texas … (via Hank)

Here’s an analysis by a Card and Cat fan of both spring games. So far, it is the best I’ve read anywhere. Since I haven’t been able to see the game, I can’t comment on the value of his analysis. This could be the basis for a good discussion, though. (Hank)

Whitlow made a strong case. He looked very good out there, significantly better than either Maxwell Smith and Patrick Towles.
Those two worthies have quite a bit to make up when summer practice starts. For my money, Whitlow should be the starter if we judge only from this game. In the parlance of horse racing, he was "Much the best."

Kentucky Football: Braylon Heard Transfer Boosts 2014 Depth
Heard gives us a lot more than depth. I’d peg him as the likely starter at running back next year. Dyshawn Mobley and Justin Taylor need to raise their game.

Kentucky Sports Radio // Kentucky spring game attendance ranks second-best in the country
I promise you we’ll be third after Alabama’s spring game, but it’s darned impressive to beat out programs like Texas, Georgia, Ohio St., and Oklahoma, among others.
This is especially impressive considering Kentucky is coming off a 2-win season, and our prospects for this year aren’t exactly scaring anyone in the SEC, or even elsewhere.

Julius Randle: "Tried Best" to Recruit Andrew Wiggins to Kentucky
This guy is completely clueless. The “rumors” are nonsense, and he has no idea what he’s talking about. If he winds up being right, it will be an accident.

Louisville football's spring game a recruiting success // The Courier-Journal
Louisville is already reaping the rewards of their Spring Game which had roughly 33,000 attend for the $1 beer. We’ll see this week what rewards UK get from our attendance. UK, to my knowledge, was not recruiting either one of these two players. (Hank)

Steve Alford apologizes for handling of rape case while at Iowa
Since UCLA hired Steve Alford nearly two weeks ago, critics have come out in force against the hiring and Alford in general.
One dark spot that has continually come up is his handling of a sexual assault case involving starting guard Pierre Pierce while coaching the Iowa men’s basketball team.
Nice start for Alford at UCLA. (Hank)

Brittney Griner Deserves a Shot in the NBA // FanSided
The title is bullcrap. If she wants to play in the NBA, let her make a roster. If she wants to enter the NBA draft, fine, but don’t complain if nobody takes her, or if they take her for a marketing ploy.
If she’s good enough, I’m sure the NBA would be happy to have her – big bucks for them, you know, and that’s what the league is all about.
I don’t know what the players think, and if she’s good enough, fine. But she doesn’t "deserve" anything but the same opportunity everyone else gets.

Facing the Houston Rockets Sunday, Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins collected his 16th technical foul, and if it stands, he will be suspended for Monday night’s game against the Oklahoma City Thunder due to league rules.
