Well, that was a tough first half for Kentucky, but after getting down nine, they turned it around with good 3-point shooting and solid overall offense. Where they laid down was defensively, particularly guarding the pick and roll.
Hopefully, John Calipari can correct some of these flaws, but we have to point out that the free throw shooting is really hurting UK at this moment. Andrew Harrison, who hasn't missed many free throws this season, went 0-2, and Kentucky, as a team, only made 4 of 10.
Despite the solid 60% 3-point shooting, UK played a flawed first half in very many ways. They surrendered too many offensive rebounds, allowed Baylor to shoot lights out with very poor defense, and basically survived being down double-digits mostly due to Baylor miscues and lights-out 3-point shooting.
Here's hoping for a more balanced second half, better defense, and for the love of Heaven, guys, get in the paint and get fouled.
Go, 'Cats!
