This game was very physical for both teams. - USA TODAY Sports

Tennessee gave a strong effort, but falls to the Wildcats in Rupp Arena in a physical, chippy game.

I have to eat and relax a bit before the full postmortem, so I'm just going to do a quick recap here for you guys to continue the conversation.

This was a very good win for the Kentucky Wildcats, as the Tennessee Volunteers came in ready to take this basketball game at almost any cost. They were excessively physical and very intense, and I thought Kentucky was unprepared for either eventuality. The result was an ugly foul-fest that will never be remembered except as a game that Kentucky won.

Give credit to the Vols, they came in with bad intentions. It was inelegant to say the very least, but they leveraged Jordan McRae in every possible way, and wound up fouling out Archie Goodwin trying to defend him. It was a rough, tough brawl, and that is probably just what John Callipari was hoping for.

I'll have a lot more on this, but as far as the game ball goes, It could go either way between Kyle Wiltjer and Nerlens Noel. You'll have my pick in a little while.

Talk about it. I'll be back with a postmortem in an hour or so.

Go, 'Cats!
