I decided to expand the range of scoring for this GOG. The ranges were:

Within 0 or 1: 4 points
Within 2 or 3: 3 points
Within 4 or 5: 2 points
Within 6 or 7: 1 point

This did not change who won the GOG. Actually, I like this a bit more and this will be the default scoring for these types of questions from here on out.
