Coach Cal is batting his eyes at quite a few players for the 2013 class.
This was inspired by an interesting tweet I just saw from Hoopmax:
Calipari is hedging on the Harrisons. New UK interest in '13 guards not named Aaron or Andrew, almost weekly now.

Interesting, and true, at least the part about Calipari showing interest in some other 2013 guards. Lately Calipari has reportedly upped interest in Wayne Selden, JaJuan Johnson, and Demitrius Jackson at least somewhat, and it would make sense that he is keeping in contact with some other top guards to hedge his bets against the possibility of the Harrisons picking another school. That would be a surprise at this point, according to what I have heard, so I wouldn't be quick to adopt this as holy writ.
I'm just guessing, and I'm not recruiting guru, but I suspect Calipari is trying to lay the groundwork for some commitments before the season begins. I'm sure some, possibly most, will hold off to see who's coming and going from this year's team, but if modern history is any indicator, there will be plenty of playing time available for the 2013 studs next year. Part of that foundation is making sure that he has a backup plan in case a player's recruitment doesn't quite pan out, although that happens very rarely indeed for Coach Cal.
