This story is from my cousin and I ask that all of the #bbn read and please share this terrible story of 60's era racism alive and well today in Bloomingburg, Ohio!
Hi, my name is Phil Hale, most of you know me personally some of you dont. Today I sadly witness a step back in time. I was getting out of my car at the Sunoco at Exit 75 on I71 Bloomingburg, Oh, when much to my surprise, I watched the gas station attendant put a closed sign on the door at 8:40 pm stating that they were closed as he watched my 2 bi-racial step sons and 3 white sons walked toward the entrance (They hung this sign as my 5 boys watched while walking to enter the store) . He said nothing but in fact just turned his back and went and stood next to a couple customers in the store, as they all looked out the window and waited for us to leave! I can't believe that in this day in age this has happened!!! And just so we are clear 3 of my boys are white and have never dreamed anyone would ever do that to their brother!!! All 5 of my kids are taught to love who you love, be who you are and never judge anyone!!! I watched as my boys teared up and then rallied together to show their love and support for one another! These type of actions need to stop, nobody wins!!! I AM ASKING ALL OF YOU TO POST THIS IN YOUR STATUS AND SEE IF WE CAN GROW LARGE AND STRONG ENOUGH TO GET THE MESSAGE OUT TO SUNOCO THAT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR CAN NOT AND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! This is 2012 and we need to act like it!!! Please help us carry our message on and FIGHT RACISM!!!
