Anticipation Open Thread
Finally getting caught up on all the posts over the past couple of days, seems like it's been interesting in here!?!?
Thought I would open up a Fanpost where we could all gather and chit-chat as we wait for the game to start, and if nothing else, expend some nervous energy by furiously pounding on our keyboards!
Personally, I'm playing paperwork catch-up today... Trying to get some bills paid, check books reconciled, yadda, yadda. It's colder'n kraut here in north 'Bama, low 30's and the wind is gusting up to 15mph, so certainly an "inside" day.
Say what's on your mind Gang...

Wet and cold here in Maryland as well.
Methinks I’ll finish up the taxes this afternoon.
Has anyone else noticed that the software on this board has changed a lot? (and not for the better). Often I will post and nothing happens, usually I can preview and then post from the preview, but clicking the post button does nothing. Some other times it works. Weird
What browser you using??
Posting from the preview has always been hit or miss with me??? IE doesn’t see to like it, Firefox is OK with it…
If your wings don't sweep....
good morning, Eagle.
Pretty sure I win the worst weather game. It’s 3 degrees here at present but feels like 1. Think I’ll go for a nice long walk. Any takers?
Mornin' BSC!
Uhhh… Does “No” work?? :-)
Spent some time in Idaho during the winter months, crazy cold! ’Course, the only thing between you and the North Pole is a couple of closed down drive-ins and a few stray reindeer! LOL
If your wings don't sweep....
LOL. Funny.
My nose and cheeks actually do resemble Rudolf right about now, but I made it. Whew. Mighty brisk out there, to be sure, but pretty serene and mind clearing too.
Lunch sounds yummy!
Lexington weather report,
partly cloudy, 22F, occasional snow flurries, very windy with an inch or two of snow in areas. Good day to stay in and watch some good basketball. I might venture forth to buy a lottery ticket but then, maybe not.

Hey wineman, how is ya??
Sounds like a good plan! Wind chill here is 20, which is mighty cool around here…
If your wings don't sweep....
Winds have been very strong here
so I imagine our windchill is way down there. Leaning against going out for anything but the mail. Have plenty of wine and bourbon if I get thirsty. I think I will get out the AD wingspan poster for good luck.
Making waves in a sea of blue.

If there’s no wine at your house, something is terrrrrrrribly wrong!
FYI, mail can wait… ;-)

Aw. Come on. What he don’t know won’t hurt him. Oh. Oh. But it may hurt you. Guess I’m being selfish. Oh well. Whoever said life was a bottle of cherry flavored Vodka anyhow?
kywm
Just have to keep bringing up that poster, dontcha? Well OK, but I wouldn’t say no if you ran off a copy and mailed it to me.
It’ll be a secret of course seeing as how no one on ASoB would ever tell. You know. Quiet as thunder? Hee. Hee.

Are you going to build a great big Montana size bonfire? If so, I’ll get my Alaska coat with parka and fly right out. LOL
Was trying to find the Muzzou/Baylor game on TV but no dice...
not all that interested in any of the other games

yeah, I think I'll pass on that...trying to do some work around the house
so just wanted to watch it in the background (so to speak)

I’ve got it up while I’m balancing checkbooks…
Luck on the housework!
If your wings don't sweep....
I have never found balancing checkbooks to be that MUCH of a turn on.

Not sure it isn't a good omen
that the ranked Cardinals went into a very tough place for them to win and came out with the W in a hard fought game. Now if UConn could just do the same thing.

Phone rings, my wife answers, then tells me that I have an out: I don’t have to accompany her to a charity wine-tasting event since her lady friend wants to buy the ticket and go. Life is good! More BB! Then there’s the weather: 74, sunny, gentle north breeze (off the Caribbean). Rather typical win for Cards: turned up the defensive pressure forcing Mountaineers into 21 TO’s, come back from double-digit deficit, Kuric hits big 3’s, Russ Smith with offensive spurt. Still haven’t completed my GOG, torn over predictions.

I'm so jealous of your temps I could cry. Where do you live? I'm in northern Alabama.
I ran to Costco a little bit ago and nearly froze to death. I bet it hasn’t been over 35 degrees all day long and the wind is wicked.

So I wake up this morning and go thru my normal routine....
and venture into the kitchen and open the blinds and what do I see? A huge Mastiff dropping dumpzilla in my yard. LMAO! It was quite a sight.
So is that a sign? is that an “Omen”? or was it just a dog taking a crap in my yard? LOL

Yeah, could be...
Guess we’ll see when we go down to their house in a week +…
I’ve watched ‘em a couple of times and when the guards are hot, they are awfully tough. Sidney just amazes me, and how Stansbury puts up with him is beyond me, but that’s about the laziest SOB I’ve EVER seen on a bball court! Davis is gonna eat him alive!
If your wings don't sweep....
After a made basket, he walks almost to mid court, then takes about three trots and then walks into the offense ..
.meanwhile his team mates dribble around, look at each other, look at the coach … okay now Sidney’s ready …. on a fast break forget about it … “you guys run ahead, I’ll be right here when you get back”
ukcris
Yeah. He sorta reminds me of Marquis Estill. He was like a racehorse. If he felt like running, you were in the chips.
Lots of UK fans showed up at ESPN's Gameday this morning and got in Memorial Coliseum ....
You could see lots of blue and hear “Go Big Blue” chants etc during the show. It was quite impressive dare I say unprecedented for a visiting team’s fans to invade the other team’s Gameday telecast. Go over to KSR and you can see some pics and read up on it.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
Be sure and listen to Digger
infer that the UK fans were there to disrupt and ruin Vandy’s game day.
Making waves in a sea of blue.
didn't see that part
but I did see where he said that the National Championship was UK’s to lose so he does have that going for him. He’s not a total failure.
lol, he doesn't really bother that much...
mainly because I usually ignore those blowhards. I thought it was kind of funny that he was lecturing the UK fans not to try overshadow Vandy’s Gameday.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
Whoa....
Alabama’s Grant has suspended 3 players indefinitely and that is on the heels of Tony Mitchell being kicked off the team. Holy Moly!
Sounds like they got a bunch of idiots on that team and Grant will not put up with it. Good for him.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
Wow!
That’s gonna be the talk of the town for the next week!
Wonder if they got lippy with Coach Grant?? Demanding a re-insertion of Mitchell?? Or, Reefer Madness reared it’s head??
If your wings don't sweep....
Ya, my first thought was the Magical Weed....
For their sake, I hope it’s something that tame.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
Yeah, otherwise it sounds like a palace revolt!
And that certainly ain’t good…
If your wings don't sweep....
Sent home from the LSU game?? And they play tonight??
Coach Grant needs a wheelbarrow to carry his around! He just went up about 2 notches in my book, and I already liked him before this…

Not as fun with you not around...
Somebody has help me be a wiesenhiemer! :-)
If your wings don't sweep....
I wonder what happened?
We’ll probably never know.
Boy, he must need a wheelbarrow to carry around his testicles. This could easily cost Bama a trip to the NCAAs.
Speaks to his character, really, and the fact that he won’t compromise on his standards for behavior at possibly substantial cost to himself.

Yes, but they also have a coach who isn’t going to put up with whatever. Mabye Cal IS having some influence on the BB world.
Sure is a lot of this happening this year.
Digger's on my short list of coaches...
whom I consider to be miserable human beings. Grant would be my choice to replace Cal when he retires.
"SPORTS"--Not interested----"CATS"--Pull up a chair,I've got all night.
LOL Him and Bobby Knight, huh?? :-)
Now there’s an interesting thought! I certainly like his hard-nosed defensive attitude. The question then becomes could he handle the pressure cooker that is UK??
This topic, and a couple of bourbons, could last well into the night…

Well, here in Louisville it is 29 degrees with winds out of the NW at 10-20 MPH. It feels like 13.

The feed will be coming from Nashville. What I don’t know is, does it go to their main studio first? I have no knowledge of TV technical stuff.
If your keeping up with the Player of the Year scoring .....
Jared Sullinger has a triple double in this game … but not one you’d consider great …. he has 10 turnovers by himself in this game..

Well, time to work on the game thread.

Best of luck, and you'll be in my prayers. How old is daughter?
I started letting my son drive in the neighborhood at about 13 or 14 so that he’d have the hang of it before permit time. He rode dirt bikes etc from about 9 yo on up, so it was easy enough to teach him to drive. However, I still remember when I first started driving; nothing could suit my dad.

the farm is the answer.
My cousins and I were driving at the age of around 10 all over the farm. Great experience and pretty much nothing around to hurt or get us hurt.
btw, I’m a very good driver. Knock on wood, at the age of 36 I’ve never ever been given a ticket. Been pulled over, but never gotten a ticket. Yay, me. : ) Good luck to you and your daughter.
I got a warning for not signaling when changing lanes on I-65 just north of Montgomery.
Have only had 2 speeding tickets.
