Kentucky Football: Welcome to National Signing Day 2012

First of all, treat this as home base for all discussion about National Signing Day today. It is during this time where Kentucky , and most other schools, will learn the makeup of the lion's share of their 2012 recruiting class.

I'll be moving this thread to the top all day, so look for new posts and updates just below this one. I will update this post periodically with new information as it comes in.

National Signing Day is a huge deal around most of the SEC, but at Kentucky it is less so. While UK fans are very fond of our football, this is mainly a basketball school and therefore this event is not nearly as big as something like Big Blue Madness. The thing that makes NSD unique is the sheer number of athletes each school signs, so the news dribbles in all day. Plus, for the schools who tend to get highly-ranked national recruiting classes, there is often quite a bit of drama about whether this prospect or that will actually sign his National Letter of Intent, or hang out for awhile considering others.

We'll see. Updates as we get them in. After the jump, we'll list what we know. Be sure to hit refresh often.

Dorial Green-Beckham to announce at 9:15 ET

As a Texas fan, I’ve been following this one pretty closely. Longhorn nation was confident in Nov/Dec, but lost a lot of steam.

Reportedly, he’s already called OU and Texas to tell them he’s not coming. Called Alabama earlier in the week or last week as well.

All signs point to Missouri over Arkansas. Huge get for Pinkel as an SEC entrance exam.

I'm out for a few minutes. Gotta get to the office.

I’ll update all this when I get there.

At this poinet, if UK has even remotely competent QB play,

a leader (like Trevathan) emerges on defense, and Minter coaches the D up, UK should beat UT again this coming year.

Even though only one tailback is on the field at a time, you can’t have too much depth at running back.

I agree with all.

Definitely holding my judgement until I see with my own eyes what our coaching staff can do with what appears to be a decent class. Having all the talent in the world doesn’t matter if you don’t know how to coach it.

Yeah kykat, the "Mom" thing was corrected right quick! :-)

It all started when she put up a new avatar of one of her Grandsons… I didn’t think calling her “G-Mom” was right, so went to “Mom”. Cue the conversation above… My Granpappy called my Mom “Sis” when he was still around, so it’s a good memory for me. I’ll share with a2, she’s good people!
