The excitement of hiring a new coach and most of his staff has waned somewhat. That doesn't mean football season is over because now we can live on expectations and hope for next year.
Barnhart has put together a coaching staff being led by the man that implemented the #2 defense in the country and an assistant on the offensive side that put together the #2 passing game in the country. Not too shabby.
So now one of the questions becomes - Which unit will show the quickest improvement? On the offensive side you have a core of skill players at quarterback, running back and receiving in place that could rapidly rise up meet the challenge; especially considering the relative simplicity of installing Brown's offense if the line can be established. Defensively, there are a significant number of returning players with great experience and that showed a lot of talent. Depth may be an issue but we seem to have a core of talent across all positions to kick start the defense. Additionally, defense is Stoops specialty and he brought along his #1 assistant to run the defense.
So the question is:
Poll
Which unit do you think will be first to reach a top 25 ranking?

Defense (7 votes)
