Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart told Kentucky he was not interested in becoming the Wildcats' next head coach, according to a report from Matt Jones of KentuckySportsRadio.com
Since he won the 2009 Broyles Award, which goes annually to the nation's top assistant coach, Smart's name has been linked to numerous head coach vacancies throughout the Southeast. Last year, multiple outlets reported that Smart interviewed but eventually withdrew his name from consideration for the head coaching job at Southern Miss.
Smart currently makes $950,000 per year.
