Reality Check: Why ________ Is Not Coming To Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Or Any Other SEC School

Jon Gruden is not coming to UK. Or Tennessee, or Arkansas. Neither is Rex Ryan, or Tony Dungy, or Jason Garrett. Not going to happen folks. Someone please wake up and smell the coffee. Get your collective backsides out of their storage facilities and get in the game.

There can only be so many Alabama's, LSU's, Florida's, etc. The idea of turning any of the available SEC locales, besides possibly Auburn, into a big time coaching destination is just not feasible. For one reason only. It's just too dang much work.

It's not that you cannot win, it's that no one wants to end up stroked out from stress, trying to build what these locales offer into a jumping off spot. Established coaches with a pedigree don't need that kind of a workout. It's hard enough doing the little things that need done to stay viable in the SEC, much less build a program, an image, and change perception all at once. That's a young man's game. It is not for those who have families. Not for those who want it so bad they give up their lives to accomplish anything. That is what hungry young wolves do. Those people are not going to do whatever it takes to make it because they already have.

So, look for a coach, a leader, a spokesman, and a gamer, but don't think they will come from the millionaires coaching club. Those guys have better things to do.
