The UK Football Debate: Setting The Records Straight

In honor of the Presidential Debates tonight I had an epiphany. Why not have a civil, calm and organized discussion about the Cats and the current football status? So, to honor our political candidates that we do not discuss on here, I am going to list 5 topics concerning our Cats and their performance (or lack thereof) on the gridiron. Now there are a few caveats here. First, this is not an attack piece, so let's keep the "I hate..." stuff off it. If you can make a point intelligently, do so. But your point must be on point, or in this case, on a specific number. No insults towards coaches or players, and no running candidates up the flagpole(so to speak). Topics will be as such:

1) Obviously the injury situation has become untenable in the last couple of weeks. Will injuries be the straw that breaks the camel's back when it comes to Joker's undoing at this point, or more precisely, could a healthy UK team have prevented this disaster we have seen so far?

2)Has that same injury situation created a serious problem at QB now for Kentucky looking into NEXT season?

3)Should Morgan Newton be "repurposed" by Phillips? Or is it too late to turn him into a useful cog in the machine?

4)Is there a blueprint for success that is out there to use? Has any other team overcome this depth of injuries and setbacks and turned the tide to save a season?

5)Patrick Towles: Will this situation cause him to rise to the occasion, or fall victim to the circumstances that surrounded burning his redshirt?

Now remember, stick to the topics. And if you call someone's answer out to debate their "mistake", be prepared to back up your answer. Everyone can still chime in on commenting, but if we get a good back and forth going, let's try to allow both parties to make their points before we jump in. You can comment on all five points if you wish, but only one at a time, so we can keep the threads clear. This will allow for easy following of the debate, and we may just prove some things either right or wrong to everyone's satisfaction. then again, this might all become chaos and look like every other thread when football is discussed. This thread is not for coaching change suggestions, but you can make points about how certain type coaches would fix the problem or overcome it.
