This one's for all the marbles. Or the one big marble. Whatever.

Alabama Crimson Tide @ LSU Tigers for all the marbles. You know the deal, you know what's at stake.

Already looking like another defensive stand off.

I think each team is playing a bit conservative, afraid of a turnover that could turn the tide of the game. :)

I am really torn but probably LSU

I think they have had the type of season that deserves to have a championship

Hard to see many sustainable drives in this game.

Special teams and turnovers will be the key in my opinion.

Bama is using their TEs well

That will get them a few first downs, but not sure it is is going to net much on the scoreboard.

Yep, I keep thinking he will be a special teams specialist in the NFL

Bob Sanders was a similar build I believe and he was always hurt

This is a great SEC football game.

Every yard given grudgingly, every play a war.

I love it.

Speaking of inches...

LSU has one of the most amazing stats I think I’ve ever heard. They have only given up 22 inches per punt return for the entire season. Don’t think I have ever heard of such a thing.

I think we are being hoodwinked.

The teams are off partying somewhere and we are being shown a replay of the first meeting.

If they had Tebow on the team

they could, get ready for it, be getting by on a wing and a prayer.

I don't undertand ...

… why Lacey is going in close to the goal in place of Trent Richardson.

Richardson is an incredible back.

But LSU’s defense is really stout.

But he is in Las Vegas for the Miss America pageant. His wife is a dance coach for Miss Alabama.

He knows whats best.

Alabama's defense is #1 in the nation in 3rd defense....

LSU cant be in 3rd and long against that defense. Herbie was right

LSU is holding back.

They will bring in their secret weapon, Lee, to get the offense going in the 2nd half.

YAWN

Six quarters of football 8 field goals made. What four missed/blocked?
Chip Kelly must be going crazy, thinking “Darn Kicker”.

Oh well, Thierry Henry returned to Arsenal today and scored the winning goal. Beautiful goal. For a few seconds, the years rolled back and the young Henry returned. Lackluster game other than that with Arsenal in complete control throughout and that game was more interesting than the first half of this game.

TOUCHDOWN

Going to watch a few more minutes of Tora Tora Tora on the Military Channel and then off to bed. (I switched back just in time to see the TD. Man that would have been a bummer. OSU and OU is looking good too.)

What a boring game. Just like expected.

Loss Cost "Hatter" $5.7M

Not only was Les Miles out-schemed and out-coached the Bama beat down cost him $5.7M in contract bonuses over the next 6 years.

From what I have read

in the national press. This game alone will do more for a playoff system than anything to date. There will never be a championship game among two team from the same conference and there will be a playoff system next year. What a dull and uneventful game. TV ratings really sucked.

by oldcat73 on Jan 10, 2012 2:21 PM EST reply actions

A playoff system should not preclude

a championship game between teams from the same conference, it should just make it a little harder and more justifiable should it happen.
