UK has seen anything like him since Leroy Bird - 'Baby Magic!'
Carr is a 5’6’’ 140 lb. 4-star (ranked 59th by ESPN) PG from Patterson High School in Baltimore, MD. “Aquille is one of the quickest and most explosive players in the country, regardless of class, and plays the game with tremendous confidence and style. He is a blur in the open floor with a gear beyond most others but also starts and stops on a dime…” – ESPN Insider
Looking for stuff on Carr that's not behind a pay screen.
Here’s a drab from Rivals about the 2010 The Bob Gibbons Tournament of Champions held in Durham, N.C. – “Maybe the 2013 prospect who opened the most eyes was Aquille Carr. He is short in stature, at best 5-foot-7, but he is super explosive, extremely fast, and flat out knows how to finish. Playing down at the 15-and under level there was nothing that could be done to stop Carr. Carr had well over 20 points for Team Melo and scored around the rim at will as well as with the jump shot. While his size is a concern for some, the kid is just a unique talent at the position.”
Don't know if he's Spud Web's love child but I certainly hope he comes to UK!
Carr’s speed, quickness and acceleration are off the charts. He goes by defenders like they are standing still and he lives in the lane where he finishes with touch and body control at a high percentage which is surprising for a player his size. He is fearless and can hit open jumpers with range to the arc. Plus, he can lead and run the offense when he is not pushing the ball down the defenses throat. Carr is at his best when the play breaks down and he has to make something happen, although he is prone to charges at times good things happen mostly. Carr said he has many offers but mentioned that Seton Hall, South Florida, UConn, Memphis and KENTUCKY (emphasis added) top his offer list. – ESPN
Sounds like a jitterbug...
but can he defend college players effectively? I would post that kid up every time down the court.
Slower Traffic Keep Right!
Yeah, ...
As you say, defense will definitely be the issue with Carr – I don’t know what Cal might have in mind for using him.
Even though he's that quick he still play's within himself - when he gets in the lane against taller players he knows how to finish
A man is nothing more than a summation of his scars!
