Kentucky: Another god-awful performance by UK somehow results in a win with the 'Cats moving to 2-0. The cupcakes will be running out soon, though, and Louisville v. Kentucky this weekend may be a repeat of the 2008 Auburn v. Mississippi State game. Either way, the ensuing three-game stretch of Florida, LSU, and South Carolina will put this team out of its misery.
Umm, how do you put UK out of its misery? We have stretches like this every single year, and have much the same chance of winning every single year. Which is to say, very limited.
So no, the misery is not going away.

So far, I'd say he is doing it. -

COACH PHILLIPS: Injury report. Matt Smith will not practice tomorrow. Billy Joe Murphy will not practice tomorrow. Taiedo Smith will not practice tomorrow. Gene McCaskill is a deal where we're trying to take care of a veteran and he will practice on Wednesdays. That's what he did last week. He will continue to do that until we feel like he's strong enough to go a couple days a week. He'll practice on Wednesday and then he'll do some of the walk-through stuff on Thursday.
Drat. We need our linemen back.

UK loves Clemons’ running, wants more of it from Newton | Kyle Tucker - UK Beat
Phillips also addressed Newton’s prowess throwing the deep ball – he said Saturday he’s throwing it better than anyone UK’s ever had – and struggles on shorter and intermediate routes. So far 68.7 percent of Newton’s 211 passing yards this season have come on four deep completions – touchdowns of 31 and 34 yards and other completions of 34 and 46 yards.
That is an amazing statistic.

More swings at Emmert. What's he supposed to say? -
This game looks like a pick-em based on performance so far.
But Commonwealth Stadium does give us just enough advantage. -
In my opinion, none of them. In all actuality, we should all wear black to the game Saturday as a sign of mourning to what football has been in this state for the first two weeks.
Heh. Word.

I come in peace to say,
that only Louisville can manage to suck worse than the suckiest Kentucky team I’ve seen in years.
Seriously guys, if both teams play like they did in weeks 1 & 2, this is going to be ugly. I think Kentucky has the advantage as our strengths are off-setting (UK OL vs. UofL DL) and our weaknesses and potential to improve them favor Kentucky (UK deep threat passing vs UofL corners). I also think that UK has the slight special teams advantage, particularly at Punter. In a game where both offenses might struggle, field position makes a big difference.
I wish our starting center was going to be back for this game, as I think that would really help even things out for Louisville, but c’est la vie. I’ll be watching from out west here on Saturday.

The only people boasting about their team being superior to the other this week
are complete and utter fools. This is probably as close as these two teams have been to equal since this all started.

Yes, so far both teams have stunk up the joint.
No doubt about it. And this game would be a pick-em in a neutral stadium.

You may not need to bring laughing gas.
It could turn into a Keystone Kops vs Three Stooges event. (I sincerely hope this doesn’t happen as I think the fans deserve a good show before the next three weeks of ugliness begins.)
Don't take life too seriously; no one gets out alive.
I seriously hope we see better football this week.
But as somebody said, Kentucky has improved every quarter. It’s just that they have so far to go …
