Kentucky Football: Wildcats Release Preliminary Depth Chart

PrintToday, Kentucky released a preliminary depth chart which is very interesting due to the surprising number of freshmen in backup positions. The offense seems to have 4 true freshmen as depth, and the defense apparently has 2.
The most notable freshman is Josh Clemons, who has moved ahead of CoShik Williams and Jonathan George as the second running back behind Raymond Sanders. We had been hearing a lot about Clemons, and I'm excited to see him move up so quickly.
Here is the offense (note the official release isn't out yet, so I've cobbled this together from other sources, subject to revision):

I'm confused.
Hines will play but not start? That sounds more like a team violation thing rather than an injury. Why take away a start from a first stringer?
Other than that, no real surprises except that it hasn’t just been coach-speak, these freshmen are good. I was little skeptical at all the coaches talking up the freshmen was just a ploy. Glad my doubts were unfounded.

No violation.
They just want to limit his minutes, and starting him against Western should be unnecessary. I have seen Phillips do this many times.

Then I stand corrected.
I didn’t realize Joker had kept players from starting for anything other than dog house behavior. Most players like to get named “starter” as many times as possible, looks good in retrospect of their careers.
