Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Dear, A.S.O.B.

I have been talking with a handful of users on here after posting for the first time. As a life-long Cards fan I want to thank you guys for hashing things out with me without either party making ignorant comments to the other. We have, IMO, the best rivalry in college basketball and it can get intense sometimes. I wish best of luck to both programs this year in football and basketball (until they play each other of course) and hopefully the stars align and we can have a UL v. UK national title game in Bball this year.

Go Cards! Go Cats!...a house divided?

Thanks again, and good luck!

All Due Respect

But as a UC (since 1958) and UK fan (since 1966), I’ve always rooted AGAINST U of L.

Cards beat UC more often than not. But UK beats U of L more often than not.

I also got it

Didn’t realize it would be considered so obscure. Of course, when I was in college, one of my good friends called me “Buford” because he said my sunglasses were too big, like Buford T. Justice’s. :)

Indeed, good talk guys.

And 40 Year almost put down his guard for a second there, but quickly recovered by touting all-time matchup records. There’s something about the consistency of the conversation with you guys that I enjoy.

Best of luck in conference play, until we join the SEC.

Thanks for coming.

Good luck to you. The game should be exciting this year.

Consistency, thy name is FortyYearCatFan.

He is never, ever off his talking points. You have to admire the constancy, really.

OK - let's be honest.

How many people here over fifty had to read that twice when our mind stuttered.

A long time rivalry

I for one have never “hated” Louisville, but for most of my lifetime UL played in the MAC, and was always trying for the big time. But the rivalry goes further than basketball, I prefer Keeneland to Churchhill Downs. I prefer the town of Lexington to the city of Louisville, etc.

and this goes back to when the two towns wanted to be the Capitol of the state, for there is surely no other reason for Frankfort to have the honor, than neither town could abide taking second place to the other.
I have always been happy to root for UL, as long as they weren’t playing UK. But I must admit a bit of animosity since Rick decided he had to leave Kentucky for its various shortcomings, only to decide that he could tolerate coming back to Louisville. Now that ticks me off. But given the choice, I’ll take Cal, so we came out ahead. :-)
