Big Blue Nation Linkapalooza: July Evaluation Period Edition
We have heard tons of stuff about recruits from everywhere during this brand-new July evaluation period. Shabazz Muhammad is supposedly coming to UK first. Ricky Ledo is only sure about coming to one school -- UK. Good stuff.
Here's the rest of your links for today:
-
William Wesley tweaks the NCAA at a recruiting event.
Maybe it's wrong, but part of me just loves this guy. On the other hand, Sandy Bell might not be loving Wesley so much ... - Commentary on Calipari's UK NBA almuni offer at Orlando Pinstripped Post.
-
Newton showing leadership.
Paraphrasing Mr. Miyagi to Daniel LaRusso, "I have hope for you." -
400 college coaches have checked in at the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis.
Coaches Cal and Crean side by side. -
Davis posterizes Plumlee.
Ah, if only Duke would come down to Rupp to play ball.[In the style of The Warriors] Dookiees... come out to ... playaaayyy.
- Joker taking Gameday Ready Tour to Pikeville, Covington.
-
Could Deron Williams' decision to play in Turkey be a trend we'll see more of?
David Stern is probably hoping not. We'll have to wait and see. -
Should The LPGA Use Sex To Sell Women’s Golf?
Speaking only for myself, I'm just fine with it. Don't tell Mrs. Logan, though ... -
Talk of power conferences leaving NCAA doesn't seem so crazy any more.
It does to me, but so does this:So now if you are the NCAA, do you come down hard on Ohio State and run the risk of further angering Delany? Or do you cut the Buckeyes a break to try and keep the peace?
Seriously?
- Shawn Kemp Jr. heads to the Washington Huskies.
-
Is Raymond Sanders the X Factor for the football Wildcats?
Hopefully if he heals. He has Locke-like skills, and that got us pretty far before. -
Gregg Doyel hate mail.
You'd have to be a fool to write this guy. Write Jeff Goodman instead, it will save you embarrassment.

Here's another one: OSU's Jared Sullinger Gives Cal Props!
The article is about Anthony Davis at LeBron James Skills Academy. About 3-quarters of the way down the page, Sullinger is quoted:
"He’s already so skilled," Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger said of Davis. "When he gets with Coach Cal, he’s just going to skyrocket. He can handle the ball, he can shoot, he can play with his back to the basket. As soon as they put a little weight on him, he’s going to be one unstoppable dude." – Article
Yeah it’s nice to hear the praise Sullinger was heaping on Davis but just as evident, if fleeting, was the respect, admiration and perhaps a little regret for his own forgone opportunity to play at Kentucky, that he shines Calipari’s way.
Consider, Sullinger, a likely NBA lottery pick on another team contending directly last season and projected to compete again with us this season for the NCAA Championship, with the topic another player at the Camp, yet, his high regard for Calipari’s coaching is plainly evident.

Wes says hi
On one hand, it’s troubling.
On the other, it’s absolutely hilarious.
Bet he never mocks Sandy, and gets away with it. :-)
Blue... there is no other color to Bleed !!!
He doesn't have to.
Wesley knows the rules as well as the NCAA does, and he was just making sure they knew it.
