Josh Harrellson Gets The Last Laugh ... Again

I had to post this exchange from over at the Card Chronicle.  It is drop-dead hilarious, both intentionally and unintentionally. Remember, we are laughing with them, not at them.

Okay, we're laughing at them a little.

Those of you inclined to be offended by the pejorative reference to us, don't be -- this is a rival blog and I have seen similar over here in reference to them.

Note:  Some NSFW and NSFK language in here, so if you are offended by mild profanity, don't click past the jump.

Star-divide

Ha.

Those fine folks douchebags over at ASOB actually think Harrelson has a shot at being drafted. I mean, at least we admit that Jennings doesn’t have a snowballs chance in Hell.

Agreed

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Hmm.

I’m trying to figure out if he purposely misused the old strikethrough insult method or just didn’t know how. I’ll go with didn’t know how.

"Experts"

I’ve read some very uncomplimentary comments about Josh by some so-called NBA draft experts. I believe their points of view come from lack of knowledge. Josh will surprise some people. After all, Mark Pope parlayed his ability into eight or nine years in the NBA. Smart teams always have room for those willing to do the dirty work.

ROFLMAO!

that allhailUofL guy needs to change his name to Awww…hell, UofL =/
Guy is a moron.

I'm not the least bit offended by this.

And, I don’t think the UL guy is an idiot. He just said what a lot of people were probably thinking. I think its down-right absolutely hilarious. Hell, even I was unsure that Josh would get drafted. I thought Liggins would for sure, but wasn’t 100% on Josh. Best of luck to him in the NBA.

your right...

The guy is prolly not an idiot, but his misuse of the strikethrough insult makes him look pretty silly at the very least =P

Classic Comedy Gold

Nothing quite captures the UofL fanbase as much as their agony over any positive thing that happens to anyone, anywhere affiliated with UK in any way.

The Card Chronicle is a joke

I tried to have a disucssion with some of those guys and they just don’t get it. They wonder why any UK fan would come to The Card Chronicle. I tried to explain to them that if you keep having stories about UK, Cal, or UK’s players, than you are going to attract fans of the program. They either denied that CC had that many UK stories or said that KSR has just as many negative ones about UL. That wasn’t my point. The point was if you are going to talk about UK in a negative manner, you should expect some kind of response. This is another example of how jealous UL fans are of UK. They want what we have.

by ScottWalls on Jun 24, 2011 2:01 PM EDT reply actions

You know what else is funny? The degree to which they seem to believe we are as hung up about UL as they are about UK

Case in point: This comment by tdstout:

I’m sure ASOB was saying the same about Jennings.

That was actually a reply to the comment above by Kevlexky.

Just out of curiosity, I did a quick search on ASoB and the last time someone mentioned Jennings was back at the beginning of May as a quick example of players leaving early for the draft. Prior to that was the win over UL. So yeah, we sure are obsessed about those UL players!

3 > 2, except for very large values of 2.

I did too actually

UL fans care more about UK than UL

No one outside of Louisville gives a shit about UL.

Citing for Example...

The Tuesday, June 21 edition of the Wall Street Journal…an article about people who live up or down to their names (Dr. Chopp – a urologist, Mr. Greathouse – A Realtor, Sue Yoo – an attorney, etc.) They interviewed an expert who studies names at…ready for this…“The University of Louisville in Kentucky.” Yep, like Berea College in Kentucky or Pikeville College in Kentucky. Destined to be Lil’ Brother.

You got to remember that half or more of the Louisville area residents are true blue UK fans

And that fact really eats at them the most I think.

A man is nothing more than a summation of his scars!

Sadly, I see more of the UofL license plates when I drive around Elizabethtown

Than I do when I drive around in Louisville.

(Still more UK plates in both places of course.)

Of course its difficult, its a shortcut... if it was easy it'd just be "the way."

Priceless!

I was actually fortunate enough to be reading over there when this conversation was happening. I’m still laughing. Was hoping someone would post it here.

Language

Glenn, once again an example of why ASOB is different from most fan blogs. The language is kept clean which attracts a different type of fan. Thanks for keeping it that way..

Most welcome.

We are officially a PG blog, but we do try to keep blue language off the front page proper.

Jorts

I always felt Josh fell short due to coaching—-BUT—-gave his ALL. When he got a real COACH (a coach that saw enough to keep him) and then some fine tuning from a young man (maybe giant is a better word) Josh responded and had enough pride in himself and the UK program to work has hard as he could. (I am sure you all remember when he stepped up to do what he could when we had injuries.) Fine young man in sports and as a regular guy. I wish him only the BEST and hope he keeps in touch with the Big Blue……..

That may be, but

But when I saw the S word above I was surprised, not shocked mind you. I had used it forty years or so ago.

Which reminds me…a divorced friend of mine recently told me he set the parental controls on his TV. I said why, you are the only living there? He said recently he was channel surfing and came across a cowboy movie and started to watch it. Said it was a bit slow with a bit more conversation than he liked, but he watched it a bit. Next thing he knew the fellows were bedding down for the night and suddenly one was all over the other and they weren’t fighting.

I said yes, I heard of that. He said, yes well hopefully the parental controls will prevent that movie from showing up again.
