According to Allkyhoops.com there is an article in today's H-L that says the NCAA and UK are at odds about the correct number of wins for Coach Cal. UK presented Cal with a 500 wins gameball after the Cats beat the Gators on February 26th. The link has a few excerpts posted from the JT piece (Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! In my best Gomer voice) But, if you feel really compelled to read it all, here is a link to the H-L. According to JT, UK spokesman Jay Blanton had no comment yesterday.
Earlier this month, the chairman of the NCAA's Committee on Infractions sent University of Kentucky President Lee T. Todd Jr. a letter asking the school to publicly acknowledge it was wrong to recognize John Calipari's 500th coaching victory this past season.
Apparently MEAC commissioner, Dennis Thomas sent a 5 page letter emphatically suggesting that UK was handling this wrong.
More than once in his five-page letter, Thomas wrote of how UK's handling of Calipari's victory total was "troubling," "extremely troubling" and "very troubling" to the Committee on Infractions.
Much ado about nothing in my opinion. It sounds like maybe no one saw a big deal when the football program spent $9,000 on a goodwill trip. I think we all know what is tops on his to-do list. It matters not if he claims 509 or 467. Ours all count, right?
Now where's the live door feed? Sorry, that may have to wait for summer is calling me, for now.
