Calipari on Ryan Harrow & Barnhart Says He's Not Interested in UT Post

The scoop on Harrow: He's good.

For the first time, Kentucky coach John Calipari gives his thoughts on the addition of NC State transfer Ryan Harrow to the UK roster, and understandably, he is excited about the newest 'Cat.  Harrow, a 6'1" point guard who averaged 9.3 ppg and a just over three assists per contest in his freshman season for the Wolfpack, has a year to learn Cal's system, work on his jump shot (Harrow made only 22% of his 3-point tries last year), and acclimate himself to the nuances of the Big Blue Nation.  The 2009 Georgia 5A Player of the Year will have three years of eligibility remaining after he sits the upcoming season.

Jason King of Yahoo!Sports has this story on Harrow and how the guard feels he can achieve greatness at UK.

In other news, UK Athletic Director Mitch Barnhart says he has no interest in the newly open Tennessee AD position.  Barnhart, who served in the athletic department at UT from 1986-'98, his final four years as associate AD, eventually plans to pursue opportunities outside the scope of athletics, but he's not yet ready to move on.

Something I wasn't aware of -- During his time in Knoxville, Barnhart hired outgoing UT AD Mike Hamilton.  Uh, thanks Mitch.

Have a great Friday, and Go 'Cats!
