Hello Kentucky fans!
My name is Craig Powers and I am an editor over at SBN's Washington State (that one school that has the terrible football team and the flag on Gameday) site, CougCenter. I live in Nashville for the time being and have decided to make the best of it by hitting up some of the many college basketball venues that are within driving distance of the city. So far I've been to Vanderbilt, Belmont, Lipscomb, have a press credential for WKU on Thursday, and traveled to Bloomington to see Assembly Hall this past Saturday.
Those have been or expect to be fun, but I would be remiss if I didn't include Rupp Arena in my little "journey." I bit the bullet and forked over the 40 bucks it takes to sit in the nosebleed seats in that small city you guys call a "gymnasium" to see your beloved Wildcats take on the Florida Gators.
So, what should I do before the game? Is there a certain food item that I can't live without? Are there any good craft beers that I can't get down in Tennessee? Is there some "world famous" bar that I can tell my grandchildren about?
I've written on my experiences at each place so far (except for the last two...I'm a little behind) and I fully intend to shower your school with nothing but loving praise. I should be easy to find on Saturday, I'll be the one wearing Crimson and Gray in the "Sea of Blue."
Thanks in advance for your help.
