Well I know this will cause a stir
IMO I never thought Rondo was used correctly while at UK. I’m not even sure he would have left after his sophmore year if things were better.
He Was The Only Starting Frosh PG At UK That I Can Remember
His 2005 team was 28-6 and Elite 8 but an eyelash (2 OT) from FF appearance.
His 2006 team suffered from the loss of Randolph Morris for 1/2 the season but was very competitive by season’s end, taking UConn down to the wire in NCAA.
He ranks Top 10 all-time in Steals and Top 20 in Assists despite playing only 2 years at UK.
http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/statistics/Players/Rondo_Rajon.html He is only of only 3 UK PG who were 1st round draft picks – Rondo, John Wall, and Kyle Macy.
He is among a handful of UK freshmen to make All-SEC Frosh teams over the years.
Pretty good stuff for a guy who wasn’t used correctly. Amazing what people forget just a few years ago. Rondo himself has been quoted that he learned to play defense at UK and that has really helped him in the NBA.

I didn't forget
And I’m sure he did learn to play D at UK. Not so sure about the offensive end however.

Forty - I'll say this you are a wealth of knowledge and a valued resource
For everyone on the ASOB – I take my humble hat off to you..!
A man is nothing more than a summation of his scars!
Rajon Rondo
I got the best of both worlds with Rondo. Played for my favorite college team, now my favorite NBA team. He’s probably my favorite player. I almost cried when we played Wizards. Never thought I’d be rooting for Wall to have a bad game. LoL. P.S. Thanks for posting this.

Mine to and for always as long as he plays - I do love the Celtics and have since Bill Russell times
A man is nothing more than a summation of his scars!
I assume many of you seen or heard of Rondo's antics during the last Heat game
When he told Doc that he wanted to guard whoever brought the ball up court. He guarded Lebron quite a bit and really ragged on him – flustrated him – it was just great.
And going up to the Heat’s huddle to eavesdrop was a priceless move. God I love this kid…!

I was LMAO when he was guarding james. I was yelling "he’s only 6’1 what’s the matter lebron. ". He makes me love the game of basketball with all of his “silent intensity” and his overall determination. If my memory serves didn’t louisville tell him no? (40 that ones to you my good sir.)

Louisville Offered Him As HS Jr But He Deferred The Offer (Ditto Lofton BTW)
As HS senior at Oak Hill, Louisville preferred Sebastian Telfair at PG and offered Rondo walk-on spot with chance to earn scholarship.
Louisville withdrew the Lofton offer after his Jr year and did not offer as HS Sr. Cincinnati also declined to offer as HS Sr. Tennessee was first major school to offer him.
BTW Lofton is a good example of why I like Bob Gibbons as recruiting analyst. Almost every website had Lofton Top 150 or lower. Mr. Gibbons had him # 88 in vaunted HS class of 2004.

Thanks Forty!
Well I was mistaken as to the circumstance. I knew it was something.

Gibbons is pretty sharp
You almost never hear Gibbons referenced as to rankings anymore. He has Wiltjer at 11. Rumor has Wiltjer adding some weight so maybe he’s our answer in the paint.
"SPORTS"--Not interested----"CATS"--Pull up a chair,I've got all night.
He Doesn't Sell To Fans Any More, Just Coaches
He offers his scouting service just to coaches. I visited his office in Lenoir NC in fall of 2008.
But he actively helps pick the McD A-A team and some other All-Star game rosters.
