Now we know why it was impossible to bring Newton in. Why didn't Phillips just say that? I don't get it.

I have tried to come up with a good reason for hours now.
After some sleep, still not much.
a) Surprise element for opponents? Will he/won’t he?
b) He did get a few touches against UGA for Max. Maybe it got worse then?
c) Joker didn’t want the negative nancys to have more shovels of dirt for our hole? I was up to my nose already.

or this next season could be his last. The fact that he is quite willing to mislead with reports out of practice can work for him but only if he wins. Otherwise he comes across as unbelievable and a loser, not a good combination. If he didn’t know how bad Newton’s shoulder was, then that is even worse.
I am all for people expressing their opinions, as long as they back them up with facts.

If you got an injured player, just say it. Everybody else does?? Tie this to the “Oh, we’re gonna be good” coming out of spring and summer ball and now you’ve got the little boy that cried wolf syndrome!
