Well folks, if you are a UK fan, (and if you are bothering to read this you are) you could not have asked for a better weekend. Demons exorcised, records expunged, and glory fills the air. So it seems as good a time as any to do this. I have had a boatload of fun enjoying moment after moment in UK history with you folks for the last three years plus, but it's time to go. The last weekend has shown me that in today's society, it is not only easier to go along with the flow, in most cases it is also prudent. Everyone who knows me knows that I am not the type to sit idly by when I have an opinion, nor will I just sit back and enjoy the moment. I was taught since birth to push for things to get better, and that in this world, bringing problems to the light of day would help with finding some sort of ground to discuss them and somehow make them better. But I am also practical, and I know that not everyone shares my opinions nor cares.
Glenn likes to have this site be known as a "thinking man's" UK site. I honestly believe that is not only true, but it is one of the reasons that makes it special. Having said that, I can't keep biting my tongue when I feel a strongly as I do about what I see with my own eyes. I appreciate everything that happens on this site, because it gives a voice to anyone who can abide by the rules and can form complete sentences. It is a place where I can let my kids go and read what I write, and where I can let them read just about any comment as well. However, I am not one to play along for the sake of appearances.
So rather than point fingers and claim inequities and show my outrage at what I consider to be a situation where I know that my differing point of view is not welcomed and divisive, I choose to simply say this: It's been a blast folks. I have appreciated meeting and talking with each and everyone of you. And I have thoroughly enjoyed commenting and writing for this site. And before anyone starts asking or wondering, no one is throwing me out, nor did they warn me to back off, but you know how it is with those who have strong opinions, and in-laws who visit for the holidays. After so long, they begin to wear on you. And as stubborn as I am, I don't have a problem with reading the handwriting on the wall.
So, Go Cats!! Here's to #8 and to enjoying every moment!!
See You In The Funny Papers.........
