Signing 4 HS A-A In Same Class

It's a rarity in UK history but it has been done.
Adolph Rupp signed 4 in 1971 - Grevey, Conner, Flynn & Guyette were all HS A-A.
Joe Hall did it twice - Bowie, Hord, Minniefield & Hurt in 1979 and Davender, Madison, Jenkins & Lock in 1984.
Rick Pitino, Eddie Sutton, Tubby Smith & Billy Gillispie never did it.
John Calipari signed 4 HS A-A in 2011 - Davis, Teague, Kidd-Gilchrist & Wiltjer.
I think he is poised to do it (again) in 2012. Goodwin and Poythress are likely HS A-A in 2012. Cauley is possible HS A-A but doubtful in my view. Good player, just not HS A-A.
But UK is recruiting (and has 50-50 chances at) several others who are likely HS A-A in 2012 - Muhammad, Stokes, Bennett & Pollard. Odds are good Calipari will ink 2 of them in the spring.

Maybe Forty or JC or someone can answer this - why hasn't Cal offered a scholarship to Stokes
The kid is a Man – 6’-8" and 255. He has offered one to Bennett and while he is a really good player he pales in size against Stokes 6’-7" and 230. Sure I would love to see us get either kid but why not offer Stokes…?

But Stokes visited UK campus recently so I think UK wants to sign him.
He plays C in HS but wants to be F in college.

…Stokes could commit if he wanted to. Only exception right now would be if Amile Jefferson does decide to commit to UK in the Early Period (he’s expected to pick NC State).
Stokes sounds like he will delay his commitment until the spring period. If that’s the case, Kentucky will continue to recruit Stokes, Devonta Pollard, and Anthony Bennett. I think Cal would love to have any of the three and will take whoever wants to come the most, rather than focus specific efforts on just one of them.
I mentioned this before - Mark Gottfried makes up in recruiting for his lack of coaching skills
Its begining to look like NC State will have the best recruiting class in the ACC for 2012.

I believe Forty, that this is one of those things that Cal is going to do with more regularity than
anyone else has ever done……If it counts as a record of some sort, then I would say it is about to be broken.
