RMK commits a violation?
Guess the king of righteous indignation has some 'splainin' to do himself now. If he's found guilty by the NCAA, he'll have one more NCAA violation to his name that Coach Cal. Would love to see someone point this out to him... in person... on camera.
And given the quote below, it sounds like his son Pat is a real chip off the old block:
"At least I'm not paying them. The NCAA should look into guys that are paying players and not worry about guys that are doing it the right way. ... I don't care if my dad is a celebrity or not. I think it's (expletive), honestly. The guy is my dad. If he wants to say hello to a recruit, he can. If we get reprimanded, fine. They need to check into guys that are outright cheating instead of nickel-dime stuff like that."

Acorn didn't fall from the tree...
I agree that Pat sounds like a chip off the old block.
“At least I’m not paying them,” Pat Knight continued. "The NCAA should look into guys that are paying players and not worry about guys that are doing it the right way. "
And by the right way you mean …. violating the rules?!?!?!
Classic Bob Knight-style - whatever I do wrong is trivial; it’s the other guys who you need to watch out for.
This type of defense is, well, indefensible.
Exactly
Maybe the rule is stupid (many of the NCAA rules are) but if you are caught breaking one and still insist you do things “the right way”, you are deciding which rules are right and which are wrong, who is guilty and who is not, based on your personal opinions and preferences. And THAT is really what Knight (both father and son) think they are entitled to do.
Knight does what he wants when he wants....
He will explain it away if he even bothers to acknowledge it.
