This is a major disappointment. Letting down the coach, team and fans. So much potential relegated to bench.

He let himself down, most of all.
And I’m sure he feels bad about it. If he’s hurting anyone, it’s himself – nonsense like this can doom fringe players (who are good enough to make it to the NFL, but must exceed their potential in order to do so) and their professional prospects.
He definitely has the potential
to be much more than a fringe player. After sitting out a “redshirt” season, not being academically eligible is damn near unforgivable. He now loses a year of eligibility and has now earned the stigma of being lazy and lacking motivation. His hole gets deeper the longer it takes for him to realize the wealthof talent he possesses.
