The Big Blue Daily Mail -- The Return

The BBDM has been on hiatus for a while, but I'm bringing it back.  Today's is full of potentially great news, funny stuff, and then there's the downright weird.

LJ Rose = TimTebow

Different sports but same character traits and family support. I know it’s way too premature to make such comparison but this descriptive piece immediately brought the similarities to my mind.

"When the people fear their government, you have tyranny. When the government fears the people, you have liberty." — Thomas Jefferson

Rose should look elsewhere
"Every kid wants to go there," he said. "It’s everyone’s dream to make it to the league and have a chance to play for a national championship."

Didn’t he get the memo? Only the NBA 1st round matters.

3 > 2, except for very large values of 2.

Tennessee Football

With this Bryce Brown situation and everything else going on with the Vols, it will be interesting to see what happens with their football program this year. The Cats should end that losing streak!

L.J. Rose

Now, Cal doesn’t even have to recruit. The recruits are doing it for him.

Anthony Davis … it’s almost too good to even think about, for fear of jinxing it.

I hope South Florida’s bb program doesn’t get hit. Reggie Hansen is an assistant there.

Is UK a football school? Haven’t people been paying attention? :)

Love him or hate him; Gary Parrish cracks me up sometimes.

Please don’t shoot, but I think Seth Davis is a much better writer than he is a commentator.

And to SaturdayDownSouth: It has to end sometime … doesn’t it? I’d like UK’s chances much better if the game were at Commonwealth.

Cal doesn't seem to care to have a photo with Chad

#1 Party School?

Obviously not from this freshman orientation video.

Party in the UGA (Very Safe for work, but not very safe for your sanity, eardrums, and Mark Richt cardboard cutout tolerance. )

They Changed It

Here’s what it said before:

Rumors that Davis’ commitment is for sale have surfaced since he cut his list of schools down about a month ago.

"There is all kinds of speculation and innuendo out there in the recruiting world regarding his recruitment and if it is going to turn seedy," recruiting analyst Joe Henricksen said. "But that’s often the route that this story takes when you see a player emerge like this. Who knows what’s true and what’s not."

The rumors/sources that have Davis choosing Kentucky are also alleging that the commitment cost $200,000. Davis Sr. has flat out denied everything.

"We haven’t asked anyone for anything and no one has offered us anything," Davis Sr. said on Thursday at a club basketball event in Merrillville, Ind.

“It’s a little unfair for a kid to have to listen to those type of rumors if they aren’t true,” Henricksen said.

This was worse than a hit piece, it was libel

And UK and Cal would have every right to sue this writer

I applaud UK

The usual hit pieces you can just let slide, but this went so far over the ethics line it isn’t even funny.

This writer better get his resume in order.

after watching cal

get attacked for 9 years here and then 1 year at uk, i was not as shocked by the story – have sort of figured that went with the teritory. but wrong is wrong and am glad the school did something – its time the media is held accountable…..
