Kentucky's road to a bowl should be easy.

You only need six wins to get to the promise land.

Star-divide

With Akron, Western Kentucky, Charleston Southern, Vanderbilt and the two lowest ranked teams in the Western Division how can the Cats not get to another bowl?

And then there's Louisville. Seems like seven wins should be expected.

So, is there really any reason to not continue posting basketball stories?

If I wrong, show me where.

Otherwise I will understand your lack of interest in the football program and accepting the idea the reason for improving Commonwealth was the reason for the ticket prices going up.

Well ...

… six games might get you there. It isn’t a foregone conclusion, it just makes you eligible.

I will be very disappointed if UK does not win at least seven games. I think their max upside is probably nine. Six would be a huge disappointment to me.

6 games makes you eligible,

but with the way our fans travel to Nashville or Memphis, it makes us a lock for those bowls. Despite what we want to believe, its still about the money.

They could win nine. But a lot would have to fall into place. When was the last time we beat Georgia and or Auburn twice in a row.
both are suppose to be much imroved. South Carolina is saying they have the best team since Spurrier arrived. AND Tennessee is going to be tough. I think a lot of that game is going to depend on injuries and if they are trying to get bowl eligible.

I have be correctly accused of having a 'football fetish'. You know, someone who doesn't think football is the warm up sport to basketball season.

Yeah ...

… it has been a while.

Auburn doesn’t look all that great this year, although their incoming class is very good. South Carolina always says that, but then again, we haven’t beaten them in a long time.

Tennessee is not expected to be tough. They have lost a lot of incoming players, and this will be a transition year for them. Of course, they own us, so maybe even that doesn’t matter.

I think we can can legitimately get to eight. Nine is a bit of a stretch, but we do get both Auburn and Georgia in Lexington this year. It will take some doing, but I think it is possible.

I am agree

I think the team has to potential to win 8 or 9. They need to win 8 and it would be nice to get some of those wins at home. Watching the team beat UGA and Auburn on TV was great, but losing to MST and UT at home was miserable when they should have won them. I hope for the team’s sake that Heartline was the right choice. It could be the difference between 7 and 8 wins. I know he has the experience and makes better decisions, but I would love to see more passes down field. I’m not sure he can give us that.

And for those that think we don’t have the WRs to make the plays, I disagree. All you need is two good WRs, which we have and a descent TE which I hope we will have. I could be a special year.

"So, is there really any reason to not continue posting basketball stories?"

Petty barbs like this really ruin what could have started a rational discussion. If you truly want a discussion keep yourself focused on football. (And please don’t start up again on OOC schedule, we are more than familiar with your thoughts on this. Whether we like it or not, it is what it is.)

hoboat

nice bash. Seems you have continued to remain the same when you have nothing to add to the stories’ subject.
You use your style and I’ll use mine.
Sorry guys, I’m old and that’s about all the entertainment I get.
And I didn’t say I didn’t like Joker. I said I would like to have seen who else was interested in the job. Barnhart could have let it known Joker had the inside track but still have fielded interests from others. What would have been wrong with that.
Again, hoboat, bash away.

Never, Not Ever

Use UK, bowl and easy in the same sentence.

"People unfit for freedom -- who cannot do much with it -- are hungry for power. The desire for freedom is an attribute of a 'have' type of self. It says: leave me alone and I shall grow, learn, and realize my capacities. The desire for power is basically an attribute of a 'have not' type of self." — Eric Hoffer

I know but you have to look at it this way.

Didn’tr we beat Auburn at Atuburn? Georgia at Georgia? Don’t we have South Carolina at Lexington? Tennessee they tell us will be lucky to win too games? When was the last time Miss State beat us twice in a row? Louisville didn’t prevy from having a ‘coach in waiting’. They had to bring in an outside and a new staff. No way they could have the continity that the Cats have. You like the odds on Arkon, Western kentucky and Charleston Southern have on beating the Cats?
I tell you, its fate.
Or ,scarasm coming, its in the Cards. It we don’t beat Louisville, then you can go on and forget the down payment on the condo you were buying in Nashville because we ain’t going to get there.
