PrintTonight at 7:00 PM, the Kentucky Wildcats take on the University of Windsor Lancers in a very, very early exhibition game.
Particulars are as follows:
Game time: 7:00 PM August 15th
Game Location: St. Dennis Center, Windsor, Ontario, Canada
Television: Fox Sports Net/Big Blue Sports Network
Radio: Big Blue Sports Network.

I really have little to say at this point, except no Enes Kanter and no Darnell Dodson. Let's all just enjoy the game and talk about it as it happens.

For a young team these guys really know how to close out a half! Looked good turning a small deficit into nearly a double digit lead.

I was a teenager when the Bengals were formed, and attended many games when I lived in N. KY. But, now the Titans are more accessable…

Hate to say it but
I think the Bengals are going to thave a pretty good season. They are blessed with playing in the AFC North….My Browns (sadly) still arent quite there yet and the Steelers are more than likely going to struggle this year b/c of Ben, questions at RB and injuries they have already suffered.

Watching basketball in the middle of August is weird
But in a good way.
I imagine there are some people around BBN who are freaking out that the Cats aren’t up by 47 points, but really the value of these games has already occurred in the practice time over the last week or so. How they play is almost irrelevant.

But with the inexperience I didn’t expect a whole lot more. To me the biggest gap is the physicality normally associated with college basketball but that will come with more games — as early as next game wouldn’t be much of a surprise. Knight with 15 at the half, he definitely has a scorer’s mentality, i.e. short memory and lack of conscience. The one move by Jones demonstrated his athleticism but he is definitely favoring injuries. Defense of 3’s improved but poor block out on defensive board is reminiscent of last year. Liggins and Hood most improved at this point.

So here's a question: If Knight is unavailable to play (foul trouble, etc) who becomes the primary initiator for the offense?
Does Miller take over after all the dap Cal gave him last year?

I don't see Poole being the guy
It’s one thing to have a freshman PG if he’s a singular talent like Wall, Knight, Rose, etc. Poole looks to be a fine player, but I’d be nervous about putting that kind of responsibility in his hands when there’s a guy such as Miller who has more experience and who also has some ability in this area.

i know its early, but here are my thoughts
Afraid all of harrelson’s PT will be in the great white north once enes gets qualified
Hood will be biggest beneficiaries of dodson not being back. Still not convinced he gets a lot of pt.
Knight more under control than wall was

a lot of questions have some decent answers now......but we will know more in a couple of days.....lets see if they can keep this up for three days

I think Harrellson will be an important player
If nothing else, Kanter will undoubtedly have games where he is in foul trouble and UK needs the size. But I still have hope that Josh will be a guy who forces Cal to put him in the game with his practice and play.

It's always fun to watch a guy swatch shots
but a lot of times that puts the defense out of position and you still end up giving up a layup. I would love it if this years Cats consistently locked down the other team and ended each game with a ton of steals.

Yes
Harrellson CAN dunk. However he is a true pivot man except for the three pointer, so his role is really not like Cousins’. I remember watching Dan Issel for 3 years and he didn’t dunk all that much. He didn’t have to. He’d kill you from 15-18 feet and inside the paint.
Don’t sell Josh short. He’s doing what Cal wants him to do. I was glad to hear that Polson has gotten a scholarship. He is doing what I thought he would all along.
